Shochiku, a Japanese distributor, began streaming a TV ad for the 'Fairy Tail: Hōō no Miko' film meaning 'Priestess of the Phoenix' on Monday. The film opened in Japan on August 18.
The story revolves around a mysterious girl named Eclair and a strange bird named Momon who crosses paths with the Fairy Tail guild. Eclair somehow loses all her memories except for one, to deliver two Phoenix Stones somewhere. The Phoenix Stone plays a very important role and unexpectedly drags members of Fairy Tail and her into a giant conspiracy.
Mashima Hiro, Fairy Tail creator, took charge of planning the story, visual design and character design drafts. Fujimori Masaya directs the film and Masashi Sogo well-known for his work in other animes such as Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin wrote the screenplay.
