Erika Sawajiri went on a 5 year hiatus after the backlash from her controversial 2007 press conference. With her return to the movie industry, the actress discussed the incident.
"I bit off more than I could chew and was very high-handed and overbearing. Someone who's going into the entertainment industry should never say something like that," she stated.
Many were critical of her behavior at the 2007 press conference for "Closed Note" where she said many unpleasant things. Afterward, the actress went on a 5 year hiatus.
"I wasn't confident and I wanted to take clear responsibility," she confessed.
Sawajiri made her return to the big screen with the movie "Helter Skelter". The movie made a big impression with viewers with its nudity and vivid sex scenes, earning over 2 billion yen.

I honestly don't really like her, but I loved her acting in 1 litre of tears xD but i hope people will give her a chance since she's also a human being like us.
Wow I was really surprised from the picture.
Since when the girl in that photo is Erika?
*so shocked*
she's erika???
she looks like someone that i don't know since her comeback... she's totally different!
when she was in Taiyou no Uta, she was the most beautiful girl in the world
welcome back...but she really moved on to a whole new level with that new movie... o_0
i always wanted her to be that girl in one liter of tears...
but it seems that she's still the same person >->
well good for her
5 years is a pretty long time, i remember watching her films when i first got into japanese movies and now im glad shes finally coming back !
no offense, but i think she's all F***ed now
she seems pretty famous
She was made famous in a drama call "1 Liter of Tears"
also taiyou no uta, ahh~ and so many more~
well im glad she was honest,
I'm glad she got her act together, she's such a talented actress, but her poor character really took a toll on her reputation. She really is much different from the pure and innocent image she once held.
totally changed from many years ago sigh
what did she say?
I can't remember what she said but she was giving off a really bad attitude during the conference.
