Recently we reported rumours that AKB48's new 12.5 generation member Eguchi Aimi wasn't all she seemed; those rumours turned out to be spot on! Click here to find out how the miracle idol was created by combining the faces of 6 AKB48 members...
It's usual for AKB48 members to appear in cute CM's for products just like Glico's "Aisu no Mi" (ice candy), but what isn't usual is for them all to appear as the same person...how, you ask?
This picture released by Glico shows "Eguchi Aimi" is made up of Oshima Yuko's hair, Itano Tomomi's nose, Shinoda Mariko's lips, Takakashi Minami's outline, Maeda Atsuko's eyes and Watanabe Mayu's eyebrows! Her voice was provided by research student Sasaki Yukari.
In the making, the preparation had to be literally "spot on", with the girls' faces marked and lined up with a computer model. Take a look at how they did it in the CM making below!
You can also have a go at making a digital AKB48 member yourself, using the faces of 47 of the girls on "Aisu no Mi"'s special website- over 5 million CG members are possible.
