AKB48 star Atsuko Maeda is set to graduate from the group on August 27th, ending her nearly 7 years with group to go on and pursue a solo career. The singer will be going out with a bang, holding a parade in her honor and live broadcasting her final performance online.
Before her final performance at AKB48 theater, a parade will be held at 3:30 PM JST in celebration of her last day as an AKB48 member. Fans can line the streets and watch as Maeda and her group mates walk to AKB48 theater. The singer will bid farewell to all her fans, giving fans one last chance to see her in person before graduating.
At 6 pm JST, Atsuko Maeda will hold her final AKB48 performance at AKB48 Theater. The venue was designed to hold 250 people. The lottery to buy tickets had a record-breaking 229,096 applicants, showing her popularity. Due to the huge response Maeda's final performance as received, the concert will be broadcast online through Google+ and YouTube, allowing fans all over the world to see the special performance.
Beginning on August 21st, fans can send a personal message to Maeda through their Google+ accounts by using the hashtag #maeda0827. All messages and the name of person sending it will be printed on petal-shaped confetti that will fall during the show.
Photos of fans around the world will be collected using the Google+ event function and compiled into a graduation album for Maeda.

I think she decided to leave just to have so much attention and stuff dedicated to her. I mean she's graduating ever since the beginning of the year and hasn't graduated yet. :s takes quite some time and attention.
well she's the ACE. If she's NOT the ACE, her graduation would just be as normal as all those who have graduated. She's not doing for attention, being the ACE is stressful enough.
