Former AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda has opened her own twitter account.
Last week, Maeda announced that she would no longer be updating her personal blog, but was in the process of switching to a new forum to keep fans updated on her life.
The twitter account was opened on October 28th. In less than 24 hours, the singer already has more than 275,000 followers, proving her immense popularity.
AKB48 member Mariko Shinoda was the first person to bring attention to Maeda's twitter account. The two talked to each other via twitter, with Maeda asking her to teach her how to use twitter, allowing people to know Maeda was now on twitter.
