Animetal USA to Release 1st Album this October!

Animetal USA, the American counterparts of the Japanese heavy metal band Animetal, will release their first album in Japan on October 12.

The original Animetal was formed by famed vocalist Eizo Sakamoto in 1996. They specialized in covering popular anime and tokusatsu theme songs, and released eleven albums until their hiatus in 2006.

Now, the newly formed Animetal USA is ready to pick up where the ones before them left off. The new lineup boasts four experienced American rockers:

Vocal: Mike Vescera (Loudness, Yngwie Malmsteen Band)
Guitar: Chris Impellitteri (Impellitteri)
Bass: Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne Band, Whitesnake, Dio)
Drums: Scott Travis (Racer X, Judas Priest)

The group’s debut album, self-titled Animetal USA, will feature 11 metal covers from several classic anime series including Dragonball, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tiger Mask, and more. The band plans to sing parts of the songs in English and Japanese.
