Alan Shirahama's Agency Releases Statement Regarding Scandal With Minami Minegishi

LDH, the entertainment company that manages GENERATIONS, has released a statement regarding the scandal Alan Shirahama has become involved in with AKB48's Minami Minegishi.

Unlike the trouble Minegishi and AKB48's management has gone through since reports that she spent the night with Shirahama were published, LDH did not have much to say on the matter.

"We leave his private life up to him. He told us they are just good friends and nothing more," they stated.

Unlike Minegishi, Shirahama did not break any rules or violate his contract. Despite this fact, many netizens in support of Minegishi are upset that he has not done more to help her save face, shown more remorse for the situation, or apologized for his role in the scandal. Some AKB48 fans have even gone as far as saying he should shave his head in solidarity.

Yesterday, Shunkan Bunshun published a report stating Minegishi had spent the night at Shirahama's house on January 17th. Due to AKB48's strict no-dating policy, Minegishi has been demoted to the status of a trainee. In an act of self-inflicted punishment, the idol shaved her head and issued a public apology on YouTube.

I don't necesiarly see what he did wrong here...? His angency is deciding to leave his private life up to him, and from this side of the story, it seems like sex didn't happen between them. Sure he could probably say something along the lines of "Sorry I got you into all this mess" but other than that I don't see what people are getting butt hurt about.

I can't blame him, he's done nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for. I am also sure the company told him to keep his mouth shut about this matter.

As for Minami, she joined the company when she was 13 years old. A 13 year old does not truly understand what she's getting herself into when she signed the contract (I like to put it as signing her freedom & soul to the company). What she was probably thinking at that time was being able to entertain, sing, and dance. I guess as the 7 years flew by, she would obviously want to fall in love and have relationships just like any human being. Nothing's wrong with that.

Oh, come on... Why should he even apologize, when he haven't done anything bad? You don't know a thing about their relationship, so please save the hate for nazis and kitty-killers, okay? :)

of course his company would respect his privacy, its not johnny's. that muther fck is creepy as hell. his company is pretty much run by exile and hiro, and i'm sure they more important things to be worrying about than a scandal with and idol group. they are not a bunch of girly men like johnny's boys. everybody is over reacting imo.

Michan, you don't deserve such kind of person. This challenge just makes you better and stronger. Cheer up and everything will be fine. You'll find a right and responsible man for you in the future. Despite a "fault", your fans will not easily leave you as you have proven your talent in the industry.

Where is the boyfriend? Isn't he just conscientious enough to at least admit/say that it's also his fault? He should stand by her at this difficult moment. I can understand her sadness and loneliness in this situation. It's like she's carrying all the burden, while the boyfriend doesn't make any action. It is not about whether or not he breaches his contract with the agency, it is about being a MAN, and being a PARTNER.

I get that he didn't violate his contract and Minegishi did, but still...is anyone else noticing the blatant sexism in this whole "scandal?" (I mean, the fact that she had to sign away her right to a private life and he didn't says enough in itself.)

Both of them made their choices and they should both be held responsible. I'm not calling Shirahama cowardly, but his silence on the matter is definitely not okay. If they really are/were "good friends," then he wouldn't let her suffer this way.

all idols have that type of contract, even the guy idols. He doesn't because his an artist. the rest of the exile family can do whatever they want with their private lives. even the girls can date

He really IS free to date who he wants. It's not like he forced her to be with him. She made her decision. It's sad (she is my favourite) but that's how it is. It's not his fault. I think it's only fair that his hair will stay where they are now...

It's not exactly the same, but I consider it kind of like dating a married woman. Maybe it's not illegal, but it's slimy.

It's good that the company respects his private life.
As of him getting hated for not stepping out, I guess I do feel upset that he didn't do anything, but treating him with enmity is another thing.
