During the premiere event for the movie "Documentary of AKB48: No Flower Without Rain", AKB48 member Tomomi Itano revealed that she plans on graduating from the group sometime this year.
According to reports, Itano was originally going to announce her graduation during a concert this spring, but decided to slip the announcement into an interview instead after talking to Yasushi Akimoto, creator of the group, about it.
During the documentary, Itano is asked when she will be graduating. After learning the film will be released in February, 2013, the singer stated, "Since this is being released in February, I'll be graduating this year. I want to take the next step in my life."
Itano's graduation date has not been decided on yet. Despite her intention to leave AKB48 looming over her, the idol still wants to enjoy the time she has left with the group.
"I want to spending the rest of my time with AKB48 having fun with the rest of my fellow 1st generation members," she said.

Not surprising, her 4th election speech should be a clear enough hint that she wants to start pursuing her dreams and move on, dancing and singing as solo.

My 2oshi graduated, my oshimen involved in one of AKB's most widespread scandal, and now my 3oshi announced graduation... Although I am a bit sad, I am also happy that her announcement was probably the most orderly and not-so-sudden announcement we've heard in a while. Ganbatte Tomochin!
I was kind of expecting this when Acchan graduated, but as 1st generation members, they ARE the oldest members & in their mid-twenties. I'm scared of who's going to graduate next. Can Tomochin have a special solo song or something like Acchan's solo of Sakura no Hanabiratachi? So sad to see her go. ;~;
