It was December last year when AKB48's Team K Captain Akimoto Sayaka announced that she will be participating again in Tokyo Marathon 2012 on Feb 26th. She will be running to help her mother's chosen charity,and she also hopes to finished the race under 6 hours. And the Team K's Captain just did that!
Akimoto Sayaka, with bib number 72040, just completed the 42km race in Women's Category. She even managed to surpass her previous time record by an hour. Her latest record is now 5hrs,39mins,and 34secs. The proceeds will go to "Charity to Connect Lives", a charity that is involved in providing medical supplies for poor families.
Tokyo Marathon is an annual event wherein participants or their families has to donate around JPY 100,000 to qualify as a charity runner.

That is an impressive run! Marathons are brutal to train for, so to think that she has time to run that much and perform with Team K is really impressive!
