During a handshake event on July 16, Minami Takahashi announced the title for AKB48's upcoming album.
The title will be 1830m. This will be AKB48's second studio album. 1830m refers to 1830 meters and represents the distance between AKB48's theater in Akihabara Tokyo to the Tokyo Dome baseball stadium. 1830 meters was first used in the video announcing AKB48's Tokyo Dome concert. The album will be released on August 15.
This was also Atsuko Maeda's last handshake event.
Below is the video announcing AKB48's Tokyo Dome concert in August. It shows AKB48's captain, Takahashi, walking from AKB48's theater to Tokyo Dome.
