GReeeeN vocalist Hide has angrily denied media reports that the J-pop group are splitting up. It was reported this week that the upcoming release of a greatest hits album would be the group's last and that the four members would focus on being full-time dentists. That sounds absurd except for the fact that all four were studying dentistry at university when they met. They completed their studies but also debuted with Universal Music in 2007, and their lives took a wildly different turn. With their catchy tunes and clever marketing the group have achieved world record level sales. They saw solid sales of their major-label debut album, and their second and third albums were million sellers. In July, their single "Kiseki" was recognized by Guinness World Records as the best-selling digital downloaded single of all time, and . But the members' faces are never seen. On his blog yesterday, Hide (29) explained that this is because they are now practicing dentists and they want to keep that and their pop success separate. Addressing the latest rumor, he said "The media have created smoke where there is no fire, with the aim of taking your money. It stinks. Everyone, don't worry, we are not breaking up." |

On October 30th in Tokyo, KinKi Kids member Domoto Koichi attended the press conference of the stage production 'Endless SHOCK'. The 'SHOCK' series with Domoto as the lead actor is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The newest addition to the series, titled 'Endless SHOCK', will be performed at Tokyo's Imperial Garden Theater (帝国劇場) from February 14th to March 30th and July 4th to 31st. Domoto is currently the actor that has appeared the most times in a lead role at Imperial Garden Theater. The 'SHOCK' series and Domoto will continue to evolve, and with the upcoming stage production he will further his astonishing record. The original 'SHOCK' was performed for the first time in November 2000. In March this year he became the title holder of the aforementioned record, becoming the first actor to break it in 23 years. By then he had performed 651 times. To mark the 10th anniversary of the series next year, Domoto will take control of Imperial Garden Theater for 3 whole months. He will attempt to hold a whopping 100 performances. But he seemed confident he can pull it off. "I've never done this before. But it's important to think that I've got to go up onstage no matter what; even if I'm ill or when my body's in pain. I'm sure I won't be disheartened by small setbacks." In previous series Domoto had lost weight dramatically, but he insisted there is no problem. "I might become tired, but I'll manage. Mentally, I'm vastly more mentally mature compared to 10 years ago." He stated firmly, "I'm going to try to meet and exceed the audience's expectations. It could be difficult, but I've got to keep on running." He said he can personally relate to the main theme of the production; 'Show must go on'. With those words in mind, he will embark on his unprecedented endeavor.
