South Korean group, 2PM and 2AM, have merged into one single group called- "One Day". The story of the groups' merger was told in a documentary titled- “Beyond the ONEDAY~Story of 2PM & 2AM~,”. The said documentary was directed by Japanese director, Shoichi Omichi.
"One Day" members attended the premiere in Tokyo last June 7th with Shoichi. In lieu to the documentary, Kpop idols —Seulong and Jinwoon of 2AM; Chansung, Junsu, Junho, NichKhun, and Wooyoung of 2PM, have produced a soundtrack for the film that talks about their individual stories, such as the song "No Goodbyes", which was composed by Junsu.

I was never really a fan of either of the two. But that's pretty cool(: I love the name!
I'm not sure why, but this made me laugh so much xD
The names of the two bands already hinted at a connection, but I wonder why they decided to merge them now?

I think this is a one-time promotional stunt. They were always technically part of One Day anyway. This article was going to be confusing from the start since it has so little explanation.

Wait... will 2PM and 2AM continue with their activities as just 2PM and 2AM, or is it now just ONE DAY?
2PM is dance, Hip-Pop, 2AM is Ballads and Slow Jams; How is this going to work without excluding certain members during certain songs? Either way, I have faith in JYP and he isn't one of Korea's top entertainers for nothing.

... To me, I don't think it will be all that great. Although they have a similar name, 2pm and 2am have a totally different sound. Well, good luck, I guess.
I was thinking the same thing; 2PM is Dance Hip-Pop, and 2AM is Ballads. EVen 2AM themselves said that dance music isn't really their forte. I wonder how this will work?
I thought they were already merged and 2PM and 2AM are kind of like sub-groups.
