With 17 screens and 3,500 seats, the venue covers 15,000 square meters and claims to be the largest movie theatre in the country.
Five halls in the cinema provide free hearing-aid equipment for those in need, Jackie Chan said.
The actor said he hopes the venue will also offer screens for non-commercial films and productions by young directors.
Fifteen Jackie Chan cinemas are expected to open in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou this year. |

Entertainment magazine "Oricon Star" asked 300 of their female high school readers about which actress is able to unintentionally fascinate them; in other words actresses they admire the most.
They already dropped the name of the first place a couple of days ago for the Valentine Queen awards, it’s Kitagawa Keiko. "Her natural face in doramas is so pretty and her commercial entrance me all the time as well." She currently seems to be the top actresses regarding to girls and women in Japan. They voted her on the first place for "Best Dorama Heroine of 2009" and the 2nd place in the "I’d like to have a face like her" ranking a while ago.
Kitagawa had her actress debut with the movie "Mamiya Brothers" and her biggest highlight so far was the role as the heroine in the getsu-9 dorama "Buzzer Beat". People are used to see her with a lot of make-up when she works as a model, but her natural good looks that she had to reveal as an actress scored her many points with the female viewers. "In doramas she almost wears no make-up at all and that’s when she’s the prettiest." Good looks alone can help you, but they can’t bring up to the top. Fortunately she also has great charisma as you can see in all of her appearances on variety shows. "She’s pretty, cute and stylish, but her character is good as well."
On second place is Shibasaki Kou and her impressive eye power. "She’s cute and she’s cool. Especially her eyes are so beautiful." "I’m so envious that she has a cute and a cool face at the same time." Thanks to her roles in various movies and doramas she got herself the image of a tough woman. However, even in real life she is often getting praised for her "core strength" / mental power.
Becky, who nowadays even works as a singer, ranked third place. The fact that she cut her beautiful long hair last year left a big impression among her female fans. "She cut her hair and became even prettier." Becky is also able to cheer up any mood with her lively character, her bright smile and her funny talks on variety shows. "She’s extremely cute and you can totally see her character on her face."
Here's the full ranking:
01 – Kitagawa Keiko
02 – Shibasaki Kou
03 – Becky
04 – Karina
05 – Miyazaki Aoi

A new 5-member band called Sponge Band will be debuting soon.
They kind of an F.T Island vibe, but what’s even more interesting is that they’re a co-ed group! There’s definitely a lack of co-ed groups in k-pop.
Sponge Band’s first mini-album will be titled, “The Beginning” and it will drop on February 19th. The members are, Oh Song (오송), Ga On (가온), K# (키샵), Soo Yeon (수연) and Chung Ah (청아).

| Pandamen A Box Office Failure! |
Added by: xaosmx | Date: 09 February, 2010 (11 hours ago) | Views: 82 | Source: cpopaccess.com | Suggested by: Miki
Besides suffering defeat at the box office, "Director Jay" Jay Chou's leading movie, Treasure Hunter, was also voted by numerous online users at PTT as 2009's worst movie. And the self-directed, self-acted, first series of his that he, himself, called "retarded", Pandamen, aired its first episode the day before yesterday. The ratings came out yesterday as 0.77 resulting in it being fourth out of the four shows in the same time slot.
Ratings not as good as expected for the millions spent on production
Jay was very proud of the price of Pandamen saying, at the China premiere, that it cost NT$110,000,000 to produce describing the series with only one word, "cool." However, at 10 the night before last, it aired on CTS and the ratings were not so cool. It lost to the four shows in the same time slot: CTV's Million Star with 2.18, FTV's K.O. 3an Guo with 1.53, and TTV's Lucky Days with 0.79.
Likes to roll tongue when speaking, words have Chinese characteristics
In addition, the audience's opinion of the Pandamen series was lowered due to works being spoken with tongue rolling despite being broadcast in Taiwan; There were too many specialized terms that took on Chinese characteristics, wafer chip "jing ping" became computer chip "xin pian". In addition, cartoons were included in the series seeming as if it was for little kids, the plot line had no purpose, and many have pointed out that it was really as Jay described -- the plot line was really "retarded".
Best ratings CTS has achieved in nearly a year
Jay has said on the official website, "My life requires no more Golden Bells or high ratings for evaluation." Furthermore, he emphasized that his series, whether it is said to be childish or not, still represents a "new hero" and is a "historical moment." The TV station also said on behalf of him that Pandamen has achieved the best ratings that CTS has had in nearly a year for this time slot. It is doing well in the 15-44 age range and liked by office ladies.
Jay to make an appearance at the end of the month to save Pandamen
Jay has said that the friendships in making this series accounted for a large part. Sure enough, Yu Hao's status followed suit and rose. There have been TV stations contacting him to act in comedies. Producer An Jing Hong also said, "Jay's appearance in the cartoon was barely 2.5 minutes, but it burnt up NT$ 1,600,000. It was made considerably well." With the low ratings, it is predicted that Jay will be going to Mt. Hua Cultural Park for a fan meeting to personally do promotions. |

February 3rd is "Setsubun/節分". Usually it's the day before the beginning of spring. There is a tradition that people throw beans inside and out side the home while saying "Oni wa Soto! Fuku wa Uchi!(鬼は外!福は内! lit. Ogre get out! Luck come in!)"
On this day, they had a special plan of beans-throwing and called someone for "luck". Actually, Oguri and Ikuta threw the beans on the program,
Ikuta: "Only two of us had a very exciting time (laugh). There were beans everywhere, and we had to clean it up before we went home. It was quite a lot. There were even beans in the shoes and stuck on our pants. I had Oguri cooked them. That's all."
It seems they had a quite big event...and it must be very interesting!
Ikuta: "Shun-kun noticed that I held a pantyhose in the Jonetsu Tairiku. And we laughed at it a lot! Anyway, I feel refreshed. I will do my best today too."
Both of them are skilled young actors and seem have a good relationship. Keep your eyes on Ikuta's performance including his new movie "Ningen Shikkaku"! |
