I do know that some bands that have come to North America have been on the west coast or in NY so there is that but I'll be damned if I go to NY to see a band live. I'd rather see them in Philly because that's one of the closest places for me to go see a band live.
about KAMIJO's English:
According to the bio on here in the "languages" section it does say that he's been English lessons since Versailles started activity so there's always hope that he could come here. One thing of note that I found interesting was in the PV for "Fuyu Tokyo" the first two lines were actually sung in English (these were also the same two lines in the leadup to the chorus).
What I think would be interesting is to see GACKT and KAMIJO do a song together on a solo track cos I think that would be pretty cool to see and hear but we'll have to wait and see
I have seen a few UK bands live
GENESIS I saw twice and Phil Collins I saw a few times as well
Sadly because of the fact that not many of the Japanese bands that I like have come to Philadelphia (the closest place to where I live in South NJ). The interesting thing about that is Philadelphia (and apparently now Deptford NJ) have a pretty good Asian population here so I tend to wonder why none of the bands come here.
I legitimately wish that I could have seen Versailles live (I have one of their live DVDs and their mini-drama) because for me as a fan of GENESIS I sincerely believe they were one of the closest things that I have to matching one of my favorite groups as a kid (I was born in 1981 if you were interested).
If PERFUME ever comes over to the US I would love to see them live because i absolutely love their music and I really would like to see Alice Nine...pretty much there's a lot of bands I would like to see live but because of the fact that most will only tour Japan I fear that sadly those days will never happen.
What I found interesting reading KAMIJO'S bio on here is that he's studying English? maybe that means that when he goes solo there's a chance that his CDs will have an English release here. Even if not I would LOVE to see him solo live.

you know its funny after watching that I can see the influence in how he dressed for Versailles but also one of the band members dressed in an outfit that was similar to his from the fiancailles video as well so you can definitely see how being the roadie for Malice Mizer influenced him over his career and who can blame him.
One thing I didn't mention earlier: in the interview he mentioned about how there was a band in the US called "Versailles" and that's why they couldn't use the name here (I also heard they were essentially banned but I dunno if that's true). Call me crazy but I think we know who the better version of "Versailles" is and that had KAMIJO, HIZAKI, TERU, YUKI and the late Jasmine You.
One thing I hope for someday is either KAMIJO to perform here live or at least Jupiter. That to me would be a real treat for sure
the funny thing about that clip that you sent was that I think I had seen it on YT before but I never watched it but now I'm glad I did cos that was hilarious!
Its always interesting to hear stories from artists about how things were before they became who they were and the thing is now KAMIJO has come from being a roadie to being in multiple groups and now he's going solo.
I really loved it in the interview when GACKT called him a perv but somehow I think KAMIJO is a little too classy to be a total perv...then again he did have to run around a ship nekkid after losing a card game so...
Since we are in a sharing mood let me show you an extended version of a video clip that I watched that I just happen to like (and I dunno why )

when you see those pictures it makes you think you are looking into a mirror that's how similar the clothes are that's for sure.
I have openly stated that I feel KAMIJO will go down as one of the "greatest frontmen/showmen of all time" and I mean that. No joke but almost anytime I watch either a Versailles or LAREINE video I almost always try to "mirror" his movements without watching the video...its pretty creepy really
I see what you meant by "Gothic" with "Shiroi". It definitely looked a lot different than say the video for "Au Revoir" and it actually reminded of listening to "NOBLE" or "Lyrical Sympathy" from Versailles (READ: A bit closer to the harder edge that Versailles seemed known for with those two releases).
Oh and remembering the conversation earlier about KAMIJO being a roadie I wonder what that was like for him back in the day and I wonder if he got his stage presence from someone like Mana?
BTW...is it just me or does Mana's hairstyle remind you of Seymour Guado from Final Fantasy X? Just something I picked up on is all

well I will say that I just started going through the videos from Malice Mizer and I got to "Au Revoir" so far and the song was absolutely beautiful to say the least. It was also shocking because I saw this one person sitting on the bench and my first reaction was "wait...is that a dude or a chick"? I'm gonna take a guess that that's Mana right? Forgive me for asking but I just started checking out the videos and enjoyed "Au Revoir" for sure. Seraph was interesting because the video that was posted for it was clearly from a LIVE when someone filmed it with a camcorder or something.
But so far its a very interesting group and I appreciate the recommendation

the thing I learned quickly from listening to VK so far is I never judge by appearance (although I STILL slip and call HIZAKI a "she") and I'm the first to admit that when I first watched "The Revenant Choir" I didn't "get it" about the genre but back then I thought that J-Rock and Visual Kei were the same thing. I know differently now but when I first saw that PV I was like "huh?"
I think when I really became a fan of the group was from "Serenade" and to this day I'm loyal to the group. I'm still gonna support the other projects that other members do but I always go by the adage that "you always remember your first" and Versailles was that.
Now KAMIJO is like one of those singers/musicians that when I listen to him sing I go "My GOD...we hit paydirt kids!" and it still amazes me that the dude is gonna be 38 this year and can still be as wild and as crazy as he wants on stage. I admire that about him because to me few singers seem like they have fun on stage and it seems like he has a lot of fun with what he does. While Jupiter is gonna try and fill that big hole that Versailles left I think ZIN's gonna have a hard time living up to KAMIJO-san but I hope he does well as the frontman

BTW if you want some random comedy I once looked up "Is KAMIJO.." and the two that came up on google were "married" (which was the one I was actually looking for) and "gay" (which I wasn't even thinking about honestly) and I actually cracked up when I read the latter. It kind of makes you wonder why people would ask a question like that but at the same time this IS 2013 and people still think that topic is relevant I guess
