Chapter 3 Death of a Dream Pt 5 Downfall

Lord Hideyori had dressed himself in his own armor and was sitting facing the armor of his long dead father, Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Red, white and black lined the chest plate and the shoulder guards. The forearm and shinguard armor was solid black. He was adorned with a gold haori with the Toyotomi kyomon. “ It would seem our clan's fate is sealed father. So many good men slain....Ishida Mitsunari, Shima Sakon, Fuma Kotaro, Sanada Matsuyuki I ask that you forgive my inability. But even if this battle is in vain, We the proud Toyotomi shall continue fighting to the last!” he exclaimed as he bowed to his fathers armor. He stood and left the room, his mind made up. He stepped out on the the balcony where Sanada Yukimura was standing.

“ Brave warriors of the Toyotomi! This is our last stand! Do not flee, do not cower before the Tokugawa! Embrace death if it is your time! If it is not, then live and keep the memory of our past alive! That is the last orders I am allowed to give you!” he yelled as he raised the war fan to the heavens. His words were greeted with the raising of spears and swords. Greeted with the thunderous roar of thousands of warriors. He turned to Sanada Yukimura “ Lord Yukimura, if possible I ask that you survive this battle and continue to live. I know my fate is sealed, I will die here. Many will lose their lives in the last battle of this era.” he said to him without turning away from the sight of his men preparing the defenses. “ But Lord Hideyori...” he started to say before Hideyori interrupted. “ Enough Yukimura, please do not make this anymore difficult for me and the men”. “ As you wish my lord” Yukimura replied with a slight bow.

Back in the Iyeasu camp Kyo had put on his armor and was standing looking at the impeding castle. Ina had joined him staying a good distance behind him. Two samurai were making their way twoards Kyo. One was Uesugi Kagekatsu, lord of Echigo. He was clad in black armor with with at the fringes of the shoulder and waist guards. He was draped in a black haori with red and white lining as well as the Uesugi kyomon embroidered on the back. His helmet was black with two regal horns holding up a solid gold plate. On this gold plate was the names of three gods: Bishamonten, Nitten Taishou Kongou and Marishi Sonten. At his side was the trust confidant Naoe Kanetsugu. The upperchest of his armor was solid orange, with the lower portion dark red. The waist armor was white as were the shoulder guards. His forearm armor and shinguards were black. He wore a white haori with his kyomon in black on the back. His helmet was redish orange color with black horns holding up the gold kanji of Ai (Love) in honor of Aizen Myo-o the god of love.

Kagekatsu looked seasoned and worn down while Kanetsugu still looked youthful. Kagekatsu had a forceful and lively expression to him. A stark contrast to Kanetsugu who looked completely dead on the inside. I turned to face them and bowed. “ So your the Asano demon? I see you at least have manners.” said Kagekatsu. “ My lord there is no need to be rude, after all he has done much for us in this battle. Asano Kyoshiro you are to join us in the taking of Osaka castle. Rumors have it that Sanada Yukimura is the guard of the main keep.” stated Kanetsugu. “ Very well, when do we depart?” I asked, looking forward to finishing what I had started. “ Within the hour” said Kagekatsu as he departed to ready his troops.

Kanetsugu then spoke once he was sure his lord had left. “ Kyo I must ask you something that I have no right to ask. Could you please spare Yukimura's life? Since the Battle of Sekigahara he has been consumed with rage at my lords decision to side with Iyeasu. In truth I am very conflicted. I ask you cause your already aware that after this battle they will try to eliminate you. Saving Yukimura will divide the Tokugawa's attention and make it easier for you to escape with your own life.” Kyo turned and walked to his horse. “ Kyo wait..” but Kanetsugu was stopped by Inahime. “ He understands Kanetsugu, but think of how he feels. How they both must feel, they both desire to finish their fight. You should know that, you should sense that they are both aware of how important their lives are.” Kanetsugu nodded and left to get his horse.

Inahime walked up to Kyo “ Ill be waiting for you at the south gate, since it will be the least guarded.” Kyo nodded and pulled on the reigns of his horse and rode off into the dying sunset. Back at Hidetada's camp battle lines were being drawn as enemy troops poured out of the west gate of the inner castle. The were led by the traitor Mashita Moritsugu. Hidetada flew into a rage and charged right at Moritsugu. Beintora brought the full force of his trident spear upon Moritsugu's neck literally ripping his head from his body. He then bolted from the enemy lines with the head dangling from his spear. Nobuyuki quickly gave the ordered a charge on startled enemy troops, with his spear in hand he struck one solider in the eye killing him instantly. Flipping his spear around to his right, he struck again catching another attacker in the throat.

Hidetada rejoined the battle, at breakneck speed he rode into the lines of battle. He swung his spear catching a calvary office in the chest, turning to his left he deflected the blow of a spear-men and caught him in the upper chest with his spear. By the time the blood bath had ended, it was dark. You could hear the groans of the dying echoing amongst the fireflies. Soldiers walked about finishing off the enemy dying and helped their own to the camp doctors. Hidetada and Nobuyuki were busy reviewing the heads of the enemy dead. Their part in the last battle of the era had come to its end. Back towards the final invasion unit, the armies were bracing for the final act.

Inside the castle , the guards at the gate paced back and forth impatiently. One stopped to drink some sake under the gate, as the bottle reached his lips a chain quickly wrapped around his neck. And with a quick yank his head and spine were torn from his body. Tossing the head aside Hanzo nodded to his ninja subordinates who were dispatching the guards on the walk way. With his kurasigama in hand he leaped down from the walk way and threw the ball end at one of the guards, the shear force decimated his skull. Leaving only a bloody splatter on the ground. Swinging the chain to his side as he landed he caught another guard in the jaw literally ripping it from his face. Running up to him before he attracted attention he used the sickle and slit his throat. Quickly turning around he sent the ball of his weapon flying again, this time striking a guard in the chest caving it in causing asphyxiation. Five guards rushed him, Hanzo twirled the sickle end in the air and then swung it at them. In a flash all five fell dead their throats slashed open with the sickle. Pulling on the chain he yanked the sickle back to his hand.

With hand signals his ninja dropped ropes for the archers to scale the walls, the rest began to open the doors to the castles interior. With arrows lit, the released them into the heavens. As if hell had sprung forth... the castle burst into flames. The troops from both sides came from their respective posts and clashed in the court yard. Kagetora, Kanetsugu and Kyo came on horseback. Kyo quickly left the two to take the courtyard, and rushed to find Yukimura. With his katana drawn he rushed through the troops etheir trampling them or slashing. One died as Kyo raised his sword up and swung in a underhand motion. His decapitated head spun in the head and crashed down as Kyo charged through their ranks.

A group of spear-men caught his horse in the chest with their spears causing him to fly off his horse. Rolling back up to his feet he began to cut his way through the mass of soilders. In threes or fives they fell victim to his relentless advance. Finally the manged to surround Kyo, like fools cornering a bloodthirsty demon the blindly moved to their deaths. Kyo side stepped a spear thrust and brought his blade through the mans collar blade and chest. Bring the blade over the dying mans head he plunged the blade through another mans throat, ripping it through the side of the neck and the mans raised arm. Kyo spun around in time to cut down another man, freeing him of his head and arms. Kyo rushed another and kicked on of his legs out from under him, with a lighting fast slash, he cleaved off the mans head. His blood gushed out covering the stone walk way.

A man rushed Kyo as he turned his attention else where. He was a brother of the man who died on the steps of the Sanada Ward after encountering Kyo. Stepping into the blood he slipped and feel back on a sword's edge that buried itself in the back of his head. It would appear fate was not with him and his kin. Turning back and forth, left to right Kyo kept cutting down men and they approached his circle of combat. Finally someone came to his assistance, the mighty Honda Tadakatsu. Swinging the Tonbogiri back and forth he cleared away troops as he rushed to Kyo. He dropped down from his horse and began to tear through the Toyotomi soldiers. Between Kyo and Tadakatsu , the path to the keep had been turned into a slaughter house. “ This is for my brothers demon!” yelled yet another brother as he charge Kyo. Kyo closed his eyes and flipped his blade around and thrusted it into a solider behind him. With quick hand movements Kyo turned the mans sword into himself causing the man to impale himself on his own sword. How could fate be so cruel?
Finally making it to the steps leading to the keep the two paused to catch their breath. “ Kyo go on ahead of me, Ill hold them off here” said Tadakatsu. “ Thank you Lord Tadakatsu” Kyo said as he rushed off into the keep. As he reached it he was confronted by a samurai weilding a kanabo-tetsubo. He was tall with scars about his face. He had yellow and black chest armor, with just shoulder armor without the sleeves. His long black hair and thick beard hide most of his appearance. He was wearing hakama covered in wild tribal designs.

“ I am Takahasi Kazyua, a ronnin from Oshu. My kin have all found misfortune in facing you. Id like a chance to fight you myself, if I may have the honor” said the samurai. “ Sure I don't mind, but lets make this quick.” I replied to the man. With a single swing he nearly clipped me with his weapon. “ Good your not frightened, I'm happy to see there is more to you then your appearance. But now the real fight begins” he said happily. He swung again, I jumped but the weapon managed to tear away my shin guards. He swung again from above I managed to stop him before he could gain momentum, and swung for his head. He threw his head back to avoid the blade. As he brought his head up I elbowed him in the face then spun around and kicked him away. He quickly regained his composure, and swung full force at my head. I ducked enough to avoid having my skull crushed, the helmet wasn't as fortunate. I brought my blade up from my left side and cut through the club and stopped at his neck.

“ Your life isn't the one I want, I will spare your life” I said to him as I started to walk away. “ We shall meet again Asano Kyoshiro” Kazyua replied. “ No..” I said as removed the haori that had the Asano kyomon on it revealing another haori with my mothers kyomon the Yin Yang. “ No longer shall I carry the Asano name, from now on I am Mibu Kyoshiro, leave this place Takahashi Kazyua. Well meet again.” I said as I made my way into the burning castle. As I walked through the blazing inferno that was Osaka Castle, I was confronted by Tokugawa soldiers. “ Stop there , we are ordered to slay in the name of our lord!” they yelled. “ Then come and die a dogs death” I replied as I rushed them and quickly cut them to ribbons. I quickly made my way up the winding stairways searching for Yukimura. I soon came to realize I was nearly at the top of the castle, as Tokugawa troops came to oppose me.

“ Out of my way fools!” I yelled as my sword split the first ones stomach open. I swung from my left opening ones chest and dodged a spear thrust. I grabbed his spear and yanked him past then stabbed him in the back. I yanked the sword out of his back and slashed upwards through another's face. Finally I was in the quarters of Toyotomi Hideyori. There I found my father standing over a dying Hideyori readying to finish him off. I rushed in and knocked my father back away from him , we quickly locked swords. After all this time, there was no need for words. We pulled away , then struck again. As the fighting intensified so did the flames. Back and forth our swords flashed amongst the flames. My father lunged at me I deflected the attack with my hand and slashed him across the stomach. Some more soldiers came and pulled him away out of the flames. I hurried over to the dying Hideyori, “ Hideyori tell me where Yukimura is” I asked as I shaked him. With all he had left he pointed to a crack in the wall, a secret passage. With that the last of the Toyotomi died and so did the dream of his father.

I quickly made my way to the passage, rushing in a blazing inferno. I found a door and opened it and found the exhausted and battered Yukimura. A man with a spear charged him, I stepped in and quickly cut the man down. “ Why are you here? To finish me?” he directed to me. “ No” I said as I helped him up. “ Id rather fight you on my terms, not the Tokugawa's thats all.” I told him as I helped him through the passage way. I helped him to the South gate, where Inahime was waiting. “ Kyo are you ok?” she asked as we arrived. “ Yes for the most part” I replied. “ Sister in law what are you doing here?” asked Yukimura. “ I'm leaving your brother” she said as she looked away. “ I see” he replied.
“ We should start moving, Yukimura you'll take the horse. Ina, stay close to him in his condition he cant fight. Ill handle anyone that tries to oppose us.” I said as I ripped the burnt shoulder guards away leaving only the chest and waist armor. We walked along the path for what seemed like a long time. Till finally two men, Yagyu Hyogonosuke and Miyamoto Musashi.

People still search for the reasons why people choose to take their own lives. The still ask why and what caused them to take such a action. Fact is, sometimes the reason isn't one that many will understand directly unless they have lived it. For some there are pains that are too deep and too scaring. As for others, sometimes the feeling's of loneliness and insignificance become overwhelming. Sometimes the things that scar and haunt people, take years to overcome. Days turn into months, turn into years realize that we can not live forever. This fact ether crushes people with its weight or it drives them to confront their demons.

Ive lived such a dark and shrouded life, perhaps its why I can empathize with someone who collapsed under the pressure. Fact is its hard to understand why would someone throw away their life when they have everything. Heh, this fact only makes the saying "admiration is the emotion the farthest from understanding" all the more true. Your average person doesn't know what it is to suffer and their not be a reason or explanation to it. " But they looked so happy and content" is often the first response to this. Truth is faking smile is easy, its easy to fool others when it comes to your own emotional state.

Ive spent a large portion of my life, confronting my own demons and accepting the parts of me that refuse to change. From what I've been through, its never a fact that your life doesn't have value. Its often the level of suffering that leaves you to despair. When you spend years of your life dealing with your own personal darkness, it becomes so hard to see the light. The more complicated it becomes as you continue to push forward, sometimes it doesn't ease up as quickly as one would like. It takes years of struggling with yourself to start to find some measure of peace.

For anyone that reads this think carefully about what I'm saying. For some death feels like the only way to escape the nightmare that they wake up too every day. Sometimes what is needed is someone who understands what they are going through and someone capable of not only listening. But capable of giving them hope that it will not always torment them. · close

After reading half the comments, i clicked off of it to sick and disgusted with other human beings for rational thought. And a song came to mind, one about a columnist who made sick and heartless comments about Dimebag Darrel after he had been shot and killed on stage by a deranged gunman back in 2005 in a article titled Aesthetics of Hate. Im choosing to post this songs lyrics as my comments towards the cowardly and heartless s.o.b's who posted those comments in the link. Cause quiet frankly I cant even articulate how messed up it is.

Aesthetics of Hate by Machine Head

You tried to spit in the eye
          Of a dead man's face
Attacked the ways of a man
          Not yet in his grave
But your hate was over all too soon
          Because nothing is over
          And nothing's through,
          Till we bury you

          For the love of brother
I will sing this fucking song
          Aesthetics of hate,
I hope you burn in hell

The words I read on the screen
          Left me fucking sick
          I felt the hatred rising
          You son of a bitch
You branded us pathetic for our respect
          But he made us Driven,
          Such deep reverence,
          Far beyond the rest

          For the love of brother
I will sing these fucking words
          Aesthetics of hate,
I hope you burn in hell

          Yer!

          Wow!
          Long live memories
          Live this freedom vicariously
          Defend tenfold
          His honor we'll always uphold

          For the love of brother
I will say these fucking words
          No silence against ignorance
Iconoclast, I hope you burn in hell

Honesty is to be free from deceit or fraud. To be truthful and sincere to those around you. In recent years honesty is the least preferred policy. From our leaders to our friends, it seems its become harder for people to be honest with one another. Most people choose to lie because the weight of the truth is more then the person their deceiving can bare or so they tell themselves. In truth all they are doing is hiding from the consequences of their actions. For when we lie to others, we lie to ourselves. To lie to yourself, to be dishonest to yourself is to betray yourself.

When we betray ourselves we end up lost in the lies we tell, the lie becomes the life we live. If one views this, it can be said that the persons trust of others and trust in themselves is called into question. One must be honest with themselves before they can be honest with others. To be honest with one's self is to accept ones self. Such honesty comes first, one must accept the truth in all things. · close

Over the course of life, courage has equated to the act of fighting against the odds. It gives strength to push farther then the limits that we are given. It is the will to fight even when the odds are stacked against you. To have courage is the same as having tunnel vision. One must be of a singular goal, while it is difficult to see past ones self.

Without that kind of drive it is impossible to break through it all. Sometimes its hard to see just how far one has come, for there is always new limits to test and more obstacle to break through. The desire to keep moving forward and never stop, that is the power of courage. · close

Wrote this after a weird dream I had a few years ago. I wont state what the dream was about cause itll give away the meaning behind it and expose a bit to much of my minds inner workings lol. So enjoy it and what not cause its rare that I post such things publicly.

No more shall the blossoms fall

“ All people live relying on their knowledge and perception, and thus are bound to them. Those boundaries are what they tend to accept as “reality”. However, knowledge and perception are both ambiguous, so “reality” could be nothing more then an illusion. People live trapped by their limited perception.” - Uchiha Itachi

In this world where the person who ether has great knowledge or can see a opportunity is the one who gains notoriety. However, there are limits on what one can learn and what one can perceive. Limits that are not natural, but man made by those who wish to keep a hold on power. Such control goes unnoticed, as if the realization is just a rouge ghost.

People go about blindly doubting themselves because of this. Its so unnecessary, yet it is their own fault for accepting the lie they were fed. It is said “ A weak man doubts himself before a decision, a strong one doubts himself afterwards”. If one internalizes this to its fullest extent, a single sad answer comes to the forefront. No matter how much people try, they have become set in their ways. Habits are so hard to break, or so they say.

It is the lie that binds you and the truth that will set you free. Yet if one doubts ones self, instead of trusting in themselves to the fullest. Then you've fallen victim to the illusion created by those at the height of their power. To say that what we live now in days is completely real is the trapping of a persons limited perspective. In the same way we fool ourselves into believing into believing in magic. They say that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. But I disagree, the greatest trick ever pulled, was selling a lie and getting the world to believe it. · close

" Swimming in the middle of the ocean , one cant tell just how vast it is. Invincibility? Its merely a word. To be Invincible. The more you think about it, the more you squint your eyes in desperation to see the more obscured the answer becomes. If something is too obscured to see, try closing your eyes. Can you see how infinite you are?

Dont think, often you do enough of that as it is. Worry about such things once you have become them. Once you stop thinking, you can go as far as you want.

To take the life of another, there are those who find it necessary to reduce others to nothing in order to validate their own existence. Some people thrive on this feeling. Beyond hatred, haunted by it no more. No matter how insignificant or great we are, we are still connect to those that walk into our lives...even enemies. Beneath Heave and Earth we are insignificant, only dust and shadows. In the grand scheme of things we are nothing.

Complacency, something that I've lacked and the reason why I strive to reach the peak. Like anyone I have been overconfident in myself in the past. Ive been stripped of my dignity and hope gone. Forced to ask myself can I resolve if its a matter of do or die? Can I resolve its a matter of time? Ive found myself being trapped in my own powerlessness and anger. But never have I let myself cave into treating things apathetically. I know what it is to hate unconditionally and to love unconditionally. Standing on the edge of realizations, I write a epiphany.

Having accepted the fact my life is fleeting, I'm not afraid to die. Accepting my life has value, I'm living for myself and those who are precious to me. Sometimes it seemed like it just wasn't meant to be, anger and sorrow were all that i would ever feel. Sometimes I dreamed that the man that had it all was me, then id awake each time to the cold reality. I can not wait for things to change, complacency is not my way. Self-absorbed, I had lost my faith and was breaking down from apathy. I bite the hand that starved and tormented me. Before one can make they must refuse to follow.

A revolution within myself, puzzled and overwhelmed. I gave my best and never depended on anyone to give me the answers. I found what was left and nothing less. I went my way and along the way made it worthwhile. A part of myself that was alive the whole time I was dead. In myself I have been reborn, acknowledging part of me that was once lost. I have repressed to many years. So much secrecy I've kept , so many personal battles. I shouldnt reveal myself, but life is better even if it is just a few people. I cant redeem myself, but i have no intention of asking for forgiveness. All in all, i still can figure this out.

Ive got my mind made up.Fear, shock, denial, anger and acceptance, I'll watch those demons drop, for my presence, for my sake. Yes, I could've done things the easy way and see what was only convenient and workable. As it comes to a end, with my trust in hand I'll stand. I'll walk straight, never to be so cold. With a clear resolution I'll continue my path. Ive stated my case and never turned from finding a solution. · close
