Our own server \\(^_^)//

Because JpopAsia is getting a little more popular lately we noticed we got over our bandwidth limit. We decided it's time for our own server ^_^ We are hosting this site on a shared server which means you share your server with other websites. If a website has suddenly a lot of traffic all the other sites will get noticably slower. But a shared server is a lot cheaper than your own server. We have now 30GB of bandwidth each month and this will be 250GB when we have our own server.
Another thing that we think may be the missing link to our succes, is to host this site in Japanese. Since our Japanese is very limited we hope that someone can help us out translating this site in Japanese. If you are interested please contact us here.
Our own server will be probably online when this year hits 1, July ^_^ yayy

What's the formula of succes?

After putting so much hours work on JpopAsia, we started wondering what's really the formula of success? We always thought it started by offering (enough) content. Why would someone visit your site when you don't have something to read, listen or watch? So we started collecting and collecting... Still no success. Are we missing something?
The problem that comes with a large amount of content is organizing the content. There are millions of website but if you can't order it, people will not find what they are looking for. Internet can't exist without good search engines because how would you know "if it's out there"? We started brainstorming how to sort our content so it will be easy to find what you are looking for. Hmmm still no success.
Maybe we should create a community? Ok why not, make something with friends and forums.
It's something we can't change. How come websites like www.jpopmusic.com have millions of pageviews a month and it's really hard to find information there (if it is there). Google marketing is something very difficult or very easy. You should think that if we are applying all the Google tricks, we should get a top position at Google's search pages. Not really actually. If we look around websites that exists for many years (even if they have hardly any content) are ranked very high.
Even if people say that it's the best site they ever visited (thank you thank you ), still search engines determine everything. I think we just have to be patient for some years | |
