We just got electricity and internet back literaly 5 minutes ago!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!! We've been without power or air conditioning since early Saturday morning. Stupid hurricane. First of all, thank you Lhia chan and missa for your comments. It really means alot to me . I was freaking out a little when I wrote the last journal. We had rain and heavy winds for over 15 hours on Saturday while the hurricane was hitting. I was at my moms house at the time and we were ok for the most part. Water started to come in the kitchen but it was only a little bit so we stopped it with towels. Two of our neighbors had trees fall on their houses but luckily no one was hurt. I basically live in a big pine forest so after words there was a ton of debris everywhere and fallen trees too. We couldn't have gone anywhere even if we had wanted to since all the roads were blocked by trees. A tree fell on the terace at my dad's house, narrowly missing the house thank god! Most of the greater Houston area has not had power, gas, or ice for since before the hurricane. Yesterday my mom had to throw out all the food in the freezer and fridge since it was starting to go bad. We only started getting cell phone reception yesterday and land lines only started working Tuesday morning. School was cancelled all this week which is nice since now that we have power ( and internet) I won't be bored to tears.
My grandparents live near the coast and had to be evacuated and the police aren't letting anyone who lives down there go back to their homes so we don't know if their house survived or not. My nana live in Houston but we haven't been able to contact her which is really scary. I hope shes ok.
I can't wait to make ramen. Freeze dried food (especially lasagna) is disgusting.
I've missed the internet sooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!
Guess what?!?!

In less than 12 hours we will be hit by Hurricane Ike! If all the computer models are accurate, My hometown will get a direct hit! DIRECT HIT! Luckily its a little father inland (about 100 miles from the coast) but we are still expected to get "hurrican force winds, flooding, and 8-12" of rain! School was cancelled today! Which is great since I was supposed to have a history test! I live in a big pine forest! Lots of weak trees! Hurricane force winds! I hope we don't have rolling brown outs again! That was torture! Air conditioning in Texas = everything good in life! All the frigging TV stations only show stuff about Ike! ONLY!! And they keep repeating the same stuff over and over! I WANT TO PUNCH SOMETHING!!!!!
The last episode of Maou was today. It was soo good! Now to wait for subtitles! Except that if the power goes out and/or we have rolling blackouts again like we did with hurricane Rita I won't be able to download and watch them! And my copy of Ayu's ~A Complete~ was supposed to come tomorrow! Except that all of east Texas will be shut down! Which means no mail! No gas! No mock PSAT! No stocked grocery stores within 100 miles! NO INTERNET!!!
DAMN YOU IKE!!!!! | |

Galileo

is a really really good drama except for one horrible flaw. ONE HORRIBLE BASTARD FLAW!!!!!!!!! i must be going crazy here. ugh...
Both Fukuyama Masaharu and Shibasaki Kou are amazing and in this drama...but...but...the whole frigging time they had soooooo much chemistry and it was hinted that they would fall in love, or so I thought, and and then at the last episode...after he disables the bomb, here i am getting ready for the moment i've been waiting for this WHOLE time and what happens?? nothing....i guess i shouldn't have gotten my hopes up so high but still. HIGHLY DISSAPOINTING!!!! and then, what is the subtitle for the last episode?? "KISS Me on Christmas Eve!" stupid stupid drama wiki got my hopes up.
Anyways, this is a great drama. It has intriguing plots and cool characters, especially Yukawa-sensei, and was never boring at all. A little corny at time, mainly Yukawa-sensei's random equations that made no sense whatsoever. I cried and laughed and rooted for the two heros and couldn't stop watching at all. I was completely addicted but i wonder why Galileo only had 10 episodes? Don't most Fugi TV dramas have 11 or 12? Maybe that just what i thought, idk. Now I'm acctually looking forward to taking physics this year in school, although i'll probably end up hating it.
The lastest episode of Maou (episode 7) was SO good I couldn't believe Ohno's acting in the crying scene with his nee-san. I wonder how he was able to cry so convincingly since the rest of the time i though he was just cold and out of place. Not that he's not a good actor or anything...I WANT TO BE SHIORI...and yay for Serizawa Naoto changing clothes for the second time ever even though i'm pretty sure thats what he was wearing in the beggining of the series. And finally, Naruse-sensei shows some emotion... CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!

Summer break is almost over and soon i'll have to get used to going to school again. ugh. if this year is anything like last year i don't know if i can take it. i go to a private school on scholarship so most of my friends are rich (and spoiled) and aren't exactly the kind of people who i want to be around. they're the kind of people who look down on me just because i don't have as much money as them, don't go to the mall every weekend, play in the band, am an otaku , and don't listen to whatever music is popular (cause jpop is sooo much better). i seriously can't stand those kinds of people. i mean, is it that bad to like anime or j-dramas?? for one thing, the kinds of tv shows shown in the states revolve around many characters with excessive sex appeal (and there aren't any guys in the states who are hotter than matsujun or toma ect.) who get involved in scandal after scandal while jdramas actually have stories and messages that are both insperational and meaningful. sure America does put out alot of great stuff but i've never seen anything as touching as ichi rittoru no namida or as funny as hana kimi or as plain fantastic as hana yori dango come from the states.
i know this one girl who "used" to like anime but is now "horrified that she ever liked it" and makes a point to let everyone know that but then, the monday after this anime convention i went to with some other friends, she comes up to me and says "why didn't you call me? i wanted to come to!". the next week she asked me if i wanted her "shame" (which is how she refers to her manga collection in public). i CANNOT stand this person!!!!!!!! how stupid can you be!!??
my school is pretty small (85 people in my grade) and the only other people in my grade that like anime come from the most unpopulat group. it really pisses me off when my friends (who aren;t exactly popular themselves) laugh at me for talking to them about anime. i really hate feeling like i have no one to talk to about the stuff that i like (which is why JPA and the internet is awesome). in fact i've never met another person who knows what Johnny's entertainment is or who has ever watched a j-drama. anyways im gonna stop moping about my dumb life, i hope i haven't bored anybody too much lol.
i just finished proposal daisakusen a while ago . i really had been meaning to finish it a long time ago but never got around to it. it was really good, i liked it alot! Yamapi is so kakkoi! it was so touching when he set up that graduation ceremony for rei and eri lol. i was really happy that tada-san turned out to be a good person, not that he wasn't in the beggining but to let the woman that you love go chase after the person she has loved since she was a kid is a very hard thing to do. especially at your own wedding. the only thing i didn't like was that ken had so much time to tell rei how he felt but he never got around to it until the wedding at the end. yamapi looks kinda funny when he's trying to smile lol. the very last scene was just horrible!!! he turns around after hearing her voice and then it ends?! good thing the special is already out. i don't really care much for masami nagasawa but she was good too.
is anyone else loving maou too? the story is getting so interesting i don't want each episodes to end! lol, Ohno-kun and Toma in the same drama is just amazing . i swear, toma gets sexier every episode and i'm glad he actually changed clothes, it was about time (episode 5). i love ohno-kun so much lol XD.

I FINALLY finished Nino and Sho's drama Yamada Taro Monogatari
I had watched the first half like half a year ago then stopped watching it cause I couldn't take it (gomen!). Nino is a great actor, as usual , but his character is so frigging annoying sometimes though I thought is was wonderful how he cared for his family so much. I didn't get Sho's character: one minute hes all moody and the next hes smiling and happy (??). And then theres Takako who was just flat out obnoxious most of the time. First, she likes Yamada partly because she thinks hes rich, then decides she doesn't like him when she finds out hes not rich, then decides she like him even though hes poor, then is all happy cheery when she finds out he lives in that big mansion for like one episode because he is practically rich. And wtf was with her and all the stupid girls falling over everytime Yamada of Mimura walked into a room. lol. And this might be just me but wasn't Sho's smile kinda creepy sometimes? I love love love him but every time he smiled it was just sorta...idk, out of place? (gomen!! gomen!!)
All the Yamada kids were so kawaii though . I wish i had a big brother like Nino...
anyways, even though this is one of the most corny dramas i've ever seen i still liked it . 2 Arashi boys in one drama is the best!! (I really wanna see Ohno and MatsuJun in drama together lol XD)
About the whole Ohno scandal, I find it really really hard to believe that Riida would do that stuff. It broke my heart when i found out about it in the first place but aparently he denied both charges. The photos look pretty real to me though but it would be really really really x10 great if they were in fact photoshoped (fingers crossed). Theres even talk of changing NTV's olympic theme song from Kaze no Mukou e(great song ). And Ohno-kun might (not sure if this is a reliable source) be arrested. And the worst part is that they say that all of this happened in 2005 but is just now coming up. WTF is that about?! Its probaby just because Arashi is doing really well right now and Ohno-kun's popularity is growing because of the AU CMs and Maou (which is completely AWESOME!!!). Aiba had a scandal kinda similar to this and he was allowed to stay in Arashi (thank god for that!) plus without Ohno Arashi would fall apart. He IS their lead singer and best dancer and Riida after all. I just hope all of this scandal goes away soooooon. Ohno-kun, no matter what, we support you!! Don't give up!! GANBATTE!!!!
please go here http://sentaku.org/talent/1000002538/ to vote for Johnnys (against Gendai weekly, the bastard magazine that published the original artical about Ohno-kun)!!! If you don't know Japanese theres and english walk through here: http://juntoshi.wordpress.com/2008/07/30/johnnys-vs-gendai-weekly/
looking foward to Nino and Ryo-chans new drama this fall Ryusei no Kizuna! It sound's really cool. I just hope Ryo-chan isn't playing an abusive psycho again!!!

code geass r2:
so far i don't think this season will be anywhere as good as the first season was but its still highly entertaning. lelouch is still my favorite psycho genius supernatural power user person.
special a:
i'm loving this show right now . Kei is an awesome character. i hope the two end up together in the end. i might start reading the manga.
vampire knight:
what can i say. i think i prefer the character designs in the anime over the manga. especially kaname who is ten times hotter in the anime. poor zero.
bleach:
at least theyre doing something with an actual plot instead of those 1 episode long filler arcs. ugh i hated those!!!!
Naruto shippuden:
same old naruto
soul eater:
i think it has all the qualities to be a great show if there would be some kind of plot instead of stand alone episodes.

Jpop has changed my lifernrnthe first time i ever experienced jpop as when i decided on a whim to look at he itunes japan store and at the time ayumi hamasaki's ablum missunderstood had just been released and step you was the number one song on itunes. I loved the song and her next single startin so much that i gradually became obsessed with jpop. other artists like utada hikaru, orange range an later on johnny's entertainment all became favorites of mine. it helped that i was already into anime though lol. now i listen more to japanese music than american music and love it!. long live jpop
