So it is 3 years ago today I discovered the wonderful world of JpopAsia!
I found this site completely by accident. My interest in Jpop music started on my first visit to Japan in 2003. The first Jpop song I fell in love with was Ryota Mitsunaga's ALWAYS.
On my second visit in 2005 I first heard Ai's newly released single STORY.
It was not until about October of 2006 that my true obsession began with Jpop music. I was on YouTube and just happened to ask my wife who was her favorite singer. I started listening to Jpop PVs that night. Soon after I discovered the now defunct site Mr Heartbreakers Top 50.
I just searched for the PVs off the chart on sites like YT, DM and Veoh. Somewhere around that time I also discovered Kpop. The very first song I heard was CSJH's MY EVERYTHING. (Tenjochiki here on JPA). I felt pretty guilty back then posting Kpop as the site was called JpopAsia after all. However Kpop did take off thanks to help from Bluesweater, dilachan, RSelphie and others. Xaosmx really kicked off Cpop followed by lilaznlori, Miki and the "King of Cpop" Aysan.
Of course with all three genres many members have contributed so much. Too many to list but a special mention of kiMi67 and Cat Lovers the present "power posters" of PVs. Also a special mention of krazysamurai12. krazy-san you have the most incredible ability to find the most unknown Jpop/Jrap bands and artists I have seen in my time here. It was a pleasure to approve them all for you.
About April 2007 the Mr Heartbreakers site ceased to exist. Panic set in quickly!!
It was then I discovered JpopAsia which was in it's 5th month of existence. I joined immediately and started to make friends. Meyer from Sweden being my very first friend here on JpopAsia.
JPA-san, Padel, Toesan, Xaosmx and Chouchou all followed closely. They were all here pretty much from the start of the site. Obviously JPA-san was from day one LOL. Not long after Bluesweater, CharlesDefon, dilachan and many others joined here as well.
I became a Video Moderator that year in September just before my third visit to Japan. I changed my position to New Artist Moderator last year as my time for my previous position as a Vid Mod had diminished to such an extent I felt it unfair to JPA-san, my fellow Team members and all the people that make up this great site.
In my time as a Vid Mod I was privileged to work with some great people. Padel, flo2w, Azalago, lilaznlori, Twisted Flower and Zutegach. I miss very much working with them all but for now my available time allows me just enough to do my job as NAM.
I really can't write this Journal with paying homage to this site's awesome creator. JPA-san, thank you for giving us all this wonderful site where we can catch up on the latest and greatest news and music for Jpop, Kpop and Cpop! Words fail me to convey the level of appreciation I feel for you for creating such a wonderful site. What's more you have provided a site for us all that has given us all countless hours of enjoyment. You've made the World a little brighter place for so many people. Thanks mate and that's from everyone here!
I truly hope this site is here for many many years to come and continues to grow and be the number 1 destination for those of us in love with Japanese, Korean and Chinese news and entertainment.
Lastly I would like to take the opportunity to thank the most important people here and that's the members that make this site so great. I'm not really into social, forum or chat sites as so often they are so toxic. Here on JpopAsia I did not find that and I really hope the level of harmony exists here always. I'm sure at times there are differences of opinions and unjust comments made but this site compared to other sites I have heard about is a pretty cool place to hang out and make friends. And don't forget the great music, friends, news, chat etc etc.
I don't get the time I would like to spend these days to socialize here but please know I will always reply to any messages sent my way. Either about new artist requests or just a general "hello".
Thank you all again for being such great friends. My world would not be the same without you all and JpopAsia!
Cheers Kumasan

Thanks to Bluesweater introducing me to photobucket (much better than the site I was using) I now know how to add decent sized photos LOL. Thanks Blue-chan.
So here is a more recent photo of Kai-chan for all of my friends here. In this one he is just over 7 months old. He looks more like a little Sumo these days. :lovec:

Wow I have never felt so "tagged" in my life LOL. I was tagged by: Ueki Kosuke, Cat Lovers, RSelphie, shanti and Padel in that order 1st to last. Thanks for thinking of me guys. :)
I usually don't participate in these games due to a lack of time more than anything but you are all great friends. :high5:
So here goes!

I'm going to post two pictures.
My 6th folder is actually one that is called "Cities" and has pics of beautiful cities from around the world. The 6th picture is a picture of Tokyo at night. I have used it before in the past as a screensaver. Nothing special here so I'll post a more personal picture.

When I just count my personal photos the 6th folder is a folder containing photos of my son Kaito taken by a friend of ours not long after his birth last August. The 6th photo is one taken 3 days after his birth on Wednesday August 13. This photo along with so many others are special photos for me.
It's so hard to describe the feeling of the birth of a baby, however photos help in bringing back the flood of emotion you feel at such a special time. :lovec:

OK now the hard part. Finding 6 people to tag!!
I'll go with the last 6 new members here to the site just for something different. :eh:
1. lili
2. gokuen92
3. c0c0b0y
4. Babygrim20
5. azimuth
6. mischa0126
You guys are officially tagged!!
Cheers Kumasan :boogie:

Only another 4,000 odd views to go to 1 million views!!
I know that 900,000 odd views are my own LOL.
But of those that aren't mine I thank all of the members here that have viewed my PVs. :high5:
Hopefully you have enjoyed listening to them as much as I have enjoyed posting them. :lovec:
Hi To All My Friends On JPA ^^
It's so great to be back and I had such a great time in Japan. Rather than message you all individually I thought it was easier to write a journal. I'm sure over the next couple of weeks I'll catch up with each of you. :high5:

My holiday went so fast and it seemed like we were just arriving into Kansai Airport, Osaka on the Tuesday night and before we knew it we were flying home nearly 3 weeks later.
Kansai Airport is so beautiful at night. Literally it is lit up like a Xmas Tree. It is situated on reclaimed land in Osaka Bay which is connected to the mainland by a 3km long bridge. It has the World's longest Terminal at 1.7km in length. It services around 17-18 million visitors a year.
We stayed in Osaka for three days shopping, sightseeing and of course eating ourselves silly on everything from Okonomiyaki to Sashimi.
rool:
We visited USJ (Universal Studios Japan) and the 3D Spiderman Experience was awesome!!
Kumasan had a rather big night out at a local bar on the Wednesday night, which featured a computer connected to YouTube so that you could request all your fav JPop PVs on the bigscreen LCD TV. It was fantastic!!. We were the only ones there and the Barman/Owner, Sohei was a great guy.
ray:
(I never did get the recipe to that awesome yet devastating Cocktail he made hehe :noo: )
My biggest disappointment was everywhere I went the shops/restaurants played Western music. Finding Sohei's Bar was a dream come true (and a "slight" headache the next day) hehe.
netooth:
On the Friday night I was so fortunate to be able to catch up with Toesan!! We had a great time chatting about The Netherlands, Australia and a little on JPA. I genuinely say it was truly one of the highlights
of my trip to be able to catch up with someone I've made friends with on this site. Toesan is such a nice guy and knowing he along with 2 of his friends created this fantastic site we all get to enjoy was truly an honour. :applause:
The next day we traveled onto Hiroshima for 2 days to visit the Atomic Dome and Memorial. At first this was very interesting. However not long after you start feeling a little sad/down about the whole place knowing what happened there. You certainly realize it wasn't Mankind's finest hour. It also becomes a stark lesson on why anyone shouldn't use these weapons again.
After 2 days in Hiroshima we returned to Osaka for a night then traveled to Kobe the next day just for a day trip. I forgot to mention our trip down and back to Hiroshima was on the Shinkansen which was really cool.
After our day trip to Kobe we arrived in Nara late that night. I really liked Nara. The people seemed more friendly then anywhere else I'd traveled in Japan and the parts of Nara we visited were really beautiful. :totallylove:
After Nara we then journeyed onto Kyoto and finally Nagoya where we spent 10 days.
As always everyone was so friendly and the food is to die for/off the planet or simply sugoi oishi.

I got to visit the local country side and see the on coming change from
Autumn to Winter as all the trees were changing colour. :lovec:
I hope at some stage to post some pics. I haven't even transferred them from our laptop to PC yet so don't hold your breath. The worst part of any holiday (especially the longer ones) is catching up with family, friends, house chores and work when you get back. X:
I really missed JpopAsia while I was away and all the friends I've made here. I'm so far behind on watching "New Videos" it will probably take me a couple of weeks to catch up. :brickwall:
I did get to watch Japan MTV and Space Shower a little while I was over there but not that much. So I'm a little out of touch with the current releases and Oricon Top 30. :eh:
That's it for now. As I catch up with you all I'm sure there is lots more to recount. :think2:
I'd also like to take this chance to wish those of you I don't get a chance to catch up with a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year (and especially a safe one!!) for you and all your families and friends. I can't believe only around 4 weeks till Xmas!!
Take Care All.

Hi everyone at JPA!!
Just writing a small Journal (my first actually) just to let you all know that I will be away on holidays in Japan from the 30th Oct until the 19th of Nov. :high5:
Therefore I won't have any time to devote to posting PVs or even visiting the site. I always try to avoid Newspapers, TV, the Internet etc whilst on holidays.
However if I get the chance to message any of my friends or post a Journal I will. :otsu:
