I'm nobody special, just me but then, I'm told that is pretty special since there is only one in the whole world. So I live in the UK in England and I really love it here. My boyfriend has gone to the US to study and I miss him coz he won't be back for another 3 years but we talk every day on the pc. OH, and I never, ever put my pic on the internet. That is a very dangerous thing to do!
My favorite artists are Aural Vampire, High and Mighty Colour (and I can't believe Maki married Nakamura Masato and quit, either he's got one great 'bass guitar' or she's the worlds greatest Sonic the Hedgehog fans.) I also like An Cafe, YUKI and her earlier Judy and Mary albums. I love Rin' and immi and Chieko Kawaba, Bump of Chicken, Hysteric Blue, L'arc-en-Ciel and so much more.
I like to spend my free time listening to music while I take a long walk. I also like writing, stories, no poetry I'm rubbish at poems except my boyfriend says my haiku are brilliant but then, he's prejudiced. I love to go to the near-by health club and work out really hard then have a nice hot sweat in the sauna, it so refreshes the mind and muscles.
My favorite movies? Oh my gosh...I don't go to cinema very often but I do buy DVD's and I think my favorite for a long time has been "District 9." Its about aliens who have landed in South Africa and the total lack of basic rights they are given. Just because they are different than humans, they are scavengers and look like prawns thus they are called "Prawns" as a racist term. It's about one man's journey from petty bureaucrat to and actual physical transformation into one of the aliens and there finding his true humanity among those so alien to him. It was just brilliant. Otherwise I like light stuff like Star Wars, the new Star Trek, the one with Zachary Quinto, but not the old Star Trek, those squeezed old and burned out actors for just one more £ before they all died off. They became to contrived just for this that they were ridiculous. "A Series of Unfortunate Events" was funny although I don't like Jim Carry and I really loved Coriline, that was brilliant stop motion artwork, and I am really a big fan of Anime with Vampire Knight and VK Guilty as my favorites.
My favorite series is Vampire Knight and VK Guilty and I hope they keep making them to move on into the story that the Manga have taken it. I also really loved Saikano, Last Love Song for this Little Planet. It was a fantastic look at what war does to people. Real people not just nameless soldiers on the battle field but high school students and to their mates who end up in battle, those back home when war hits there and how it can drive even love to the point of being something unrecognizable yet still desired and held onto, as the only thing that goes beyond the end of the world. I'm always saying 'its brilliant' but really this one is and if you haven't seen it then please do.
I like clear minded, artistic and talented people who can take part in discussions of any type without getting angry or feeling like any one or another "wins" by making a specific point. Things such as religion, politics, they have no definitive answers they are only concepts of men and women who have collectivized their thoughts and ideas with other like minded individuals. Such people, when gathered, can do more good in one day than any one can alone in years. I like music as a universal language, it can heal so many hurts, so many wounds and stop so much misunderstanding if could just each share our love of art, writing, stage, music. It sure beats hate, racism, violence, xenophobia and religious bigotry anytime.
"I dislike" seems to pick up on the tail of what I just wrote above in "Things I Like." When people come together to talk, to discuss our hopes and dreams of the future of our planet, just because one can shout their "point" so loud and long that all others just give up and quit does not mean they were/are right. This is the basis of all wars, the shouts turn to gunshots then innocence suffers and I would like to think that, evolutionary wise, we humans are still a "just out of the trees, innocent society" yet every day we lose more and more of that. With every racist word, with every religiously biased shout, with every new bullet fired we lose more of that innocence and I fear to think of the world our children will live in. Every day I pass so many people of so many world cultures right here in little England. And they all have their "dirty little names" people call them. I see woman all in black for their devotion to their faith and they are called 'this' bad name and 'that' racist word. I see people in colourful clothing that thrills my soul with the variety of rainbow hews around me yet even in their colourful splendor they are called 'that' by word and 'this' nasty term. I see men in their long beards and turbans, others in beards and tzit tzit strings hanging from their waste coats, others in full western dress yet with darker than "average" colour and they all, for one reason or another are given their nasty little hate names. I guess I can say: I dislike having to wonder which will end life on this planet first, global warming or our horrible bigotry and hatred of each other over who's god wants us to wear what kind of hat or have men shave or grow beards. Wouldn't God/Goddess be much more concerned with feeding the starving and ending the rampant sickness running about the planet? Or should we work very hard to discover just which sort of hat God/Goddess wants us to wear in order to please him/her while the world starves and dies around us? This...is what I truly dislike.
