Well, you know how GD usually writes BIGBANG's songs, right ? He wrote almost all of them so far - with TOP writing a lot of his own raps as well - and I read somewhere that for Monster, GD and Daesung actually worked together in writing it. It's said to be a song for when they both had their respective incidents and a lot of VIP's abandoned them. I think that could really be accurate though, if you look at the lyrics, they're being abandoned after having done something wrong, and "you won't say that tomorrow" as in, when the news hits you, you guys abandon us anyway.
I mean... when I read that this was a song for the fans who have left, it just kind of immediately clicked and made sense in my head ^-^
