Tizzy Bac

Assembled in 1999, 3 Taiwan students: Hui-Ting Chen (陳惠婷), Kai-Tong Zheng (鄭凱同), and Zhe-Yu Xu (許哲毓) shouted out their name ‘Tizzy Bac’. Their multicolor band integrates jazz, alternative rock and electronic elements, creating a unique atmosphere that indistinctly reminds of New Order, Frente and Loop. However, bearing the belief ‘every song has its own personality’ in mind, Tizzy Bac never confines themselves with a monotonic definition.

In 2001, Tizzy Bac’s performances at Formoz Festival 2001 and Hohaiyan Rock Festival 2002 were praised by fans, artists and critics, including Cat Power, who was fascinated by Hui-Ting Chen’s ‘powerful voice’.

2003, Tizzy Bac’s first album ‘Everything Distracts Me’ (‘Shen me shi dou jiao wo fen xin’甚麼事都叫我分心) assembled 10 pieces of work continuing their passionate and kaleidoscopic style.In the same year, drummer Kai-Tong Zheng(凱同) leaved the band and the new member 林前源 joined the band.

Their EP ‘Sunstroke’(‘Xia ji re’夏季熱) was released in 2005, with a fresh and new image. This EP has brought rich and elastic rock, maintaining their distinguishing basis.

Tizzy Bac released EP ‘La Rose de Victor’ in March 2007 with 4 pieces: La Rose de Victor, 雛菊之歌, 维克多的玫瑰, and 淺色的那條. · close
