Sotaisei Riron

Soutaisei Riron, or ' Theory of Relativity ', was formed in late 2006. With Etsuko Yakushimaru as the Lead Vocalist, Seiichi Nagai as the Guitarist, Manabe Shiyuuiti as the Bass and Nishiura Kensuke as the Drummer, this rock band definitely distinguishes itself from the rest.

Their music is a blend of intellectual J-pop and Indies; Sophisticated, yet intellectual. The band brings forth a mature theme and they have that special touch to make fantastic songs with complex melodies, verses and versatility. While the singing style constantly retains that cute and ambient whisper of a J-pop voice, each music track has their own individual and distinguished identity.

The band, interestingly, has an ironic policy ; no photos of themselves ! However, this does not mean they have hideous looks. They simply do not follow the path of advertising themselves and have rejected various TV appearances, photo and press opportunities and also interviews.

Formed in late 2006 under Mirai Records, the band released 'Chiffon Shugi' in May of 2008 and 'Hi-Fi Shinsho' in 2009. Interestingly, without presenting their identities to the world and a little twist in their music, the latter managed to hit #7 on the Oricon Charts. · close
