Plastic Tree (プラスティック トゥリー, Purasutikku Torī?) is a Japanese rock band which formed in December 1993 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
They released their first mini-album in December 1995, and in 1997, they debuted by releasing their first single on a major label.
Their sound has been influenced by bands such as Radiohead and The Cure, but their most recognizable signature is Ryūtarō's (vocalist) unique voice.
Since forming, they have had 4 different drummers.

Sound
Early in their career, their music was dark and had heavy visual kei influences. As time went on, their sound seemed to change and evolve with every album. Due to this, the band does not think that they should be placed into any certain genre.
Plastic Tree has also stated that their sound has been considerably influenced by British bands such as Radiohead and The Cure.
The the most recognizable signature of Plastic Tree is the melodic, child-like voice of Ryutaro. It is often described as very 'ethereal', and adds to the unique quality of their music. Their sound is also aided by Ryutaro's unique lyrics.
Plastic Tree's current sound ranges from hardcore rock to pop. · close

Most awesome band with the most awesome songs *-*
As Plastic Tree are currently celebrating their 15th anniversary since their major debut, they have been active with releases and live performances this year and there is no end in sight. Only yesterday had Ryotaro held a special reading event under the title "15 Nennme no Kakurenbo ~Hide and Seek ni Yosete~".
Moreover, it has just been announce that Plastic Tree will be releasing another single this year. The title will be "Shion" and the release date is set for September 5th. With the new single also comes a short tour along Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya starting on September 8th.
General ticket sales are scheduled to start on August 18th!
