NASTYONA are an indie rock band that formed in Busan in 2002. The band were formed by Yona (vocals, keyboards), Hojin (guitar), Dong-jun (bass) and Yong-jin (drums). Their dream was to create a band influenced by The Doors, Portishead, Sonic Youth and Björk.

The band relocated to Seoul where they began to perform concerts and developed their unique sound in the indie rock scene. They were first brought to the public's attention in October 2002 when they performed in the Ssamji Sound Festival, a festival that has also discovered other major names in Korean rock such as Rumble Fish. From there, they attracted a dedicated fan following as they continued to perform in and around the Seoul indie rock scene. Before their official debut, Dong-jun left the band and was replaced by Cheoru.

In February 2004, the band were featured on the Live Club Fest Vol. 1 compilation alongside bands such as BIURET, Ghetto Bombs and GUYZ. Their first album, BYE BYE MY SWEET HONEY, was released in April 2004, much to the joy of their fans. The lead single from that album, Cause You're My Mom, became an indie hit and brought the band to a wider audience and even allowed the band to expand their activities into Taiwan. Cause You'Re My Mom was featured on a compilation released by the Taiwanese label, White Wabbit Records.

After this release Hojin and Cheoru left the band and the new bassist Tae-hyuk joined the group.

Their second album, Ahopgaji gibun, was released in May 2007 and brought a more experimental and diverse sound to the band's music. It also differed from their first album in that it featured more Korean lyrics.

Currently the band are touring around Korea appearing on radio shows and at festivals. In Summer 2007, the band appeared at the 3rd annual Flow Festival.
