JAM Project ("JAM" standing for "Japan Animationsong Makers") is an anime music genre (or anison) "supergroup" based in Japan, originally founded on July 19, 2000 by famous 1970s theme song artist Ichirou Mizuki. The group is composed of many vocal artists well known in the genre; aside from the many anime and video game theme songs that this group has performed together, each member is famous for his or her own solo performances of anime-related music.

As a group, they are perhaps best known for their themes for the Super Robot Wars series of video games.

The group has recently moved into the realm of live-action theme songs by performing opening and insert themes for the recent tokusatsu show GARO.

Skills

JAM Project, overall, is a well-balanced group made from members with incredible vocal technique, allowing them to sing for hours and still sound just fine. All of the members can sing high notes and low notes alike with no apparent trouble, and uniquely, they can all use vibrato consistently, with the exception of Hironobu, Ichirou and Eizo, whose vibratos are obtrusive. Each member is unique in their own way, being a pillar for the group's solid performances. Below are some of the members' traits:

Hironobu Kageyama - the group's primary composer, who writes over 90% of the tracks in JAM Project's career. He is very energetic on stage, and even after singing through dozens of songs, he can still shout and direct the audience.

Masaaki Endoh - the strongest vocalist in the group, he is the core of the group's singing. He is known to be able to handle practically any note in any key, as his versatile abilities allow him to sing almost anything.

Hiroshi Kitadani - an important back-up vocalist, he specializes in providing harmonization and capable of hitting notes that are extremely high, to the very top of his voice.

Masami Okui - a very skillful soprano, she displays professional looks while singing without any tension in her face. She does not usually harmonize, but when she does, she can make wide jumps in her range and still have a smooth sound.

Yoshiki Fukuyama - with a unique feminine voice, he can be a very formidable singer. Not only can he sing on equal grounds with Hiroshi, his edgy high notes give him a scratchy sound but with beautiful timbre.

Rica Matsumoto - a female with a masculine voice, she can easily sing louder than her male peers. While her high notes are slightly weaker, she exerts force when singing, giving off an energetic feel to her otherwise powerful sound.

Ichirou Mizuki - the group's oldest voice, he is definitely not to be underestimated. He can easily jump with power and sing notes with ease, but due to his age, his vibrato and high notes are more significantly difficult for him.

Eizo Sakamoto - the only metal voice in the group, he is a very solid vocalist. His sound is similar to Masami and his voice is generally feminine-like, but he can hit high notes with a lot of skill and power.

Ricardo Cruz - a younger voice in the arsenal, Ricardo is easily on par with his seniors. He can sing with just as much ease as the older members can, and definitely a powerhouse for higher notes that can be challenging to the older seniors. · close
