Both of them being muay (half Chinese), they were marketed to sing in both Thai and Chinese to appeal to the c-pop craze that was big in Thailand in the 90s, and released several Thai and Chinese albums from 1999-2004.
In 2006, the group officially disbanded when Hwahwa announced she didn't renew her contract with the Thai record company, GMM Grammy, because they refused to promise them any more China Dolls projects and wanted them to focus on special project compilation groups with three other female singers in the label.
As of 2009, Bell is still working in Thailand under Grammy, doing compilation group works, and has been working on an upcoming solo album for herself. She's also been a dance instructor at her own dance school she opened.
Hwahwa moved to Taiwan to get involved in acting there, and decided to start China Dolls up again under a Taiwanese record label. Because Bell was busy with her dance school and solo project, she declined Hwahwa's offer to get back together. Instead, Hwahwa enlisted "Dan Chun" Liu Pei Jun as her new partner, and they will release a new album under a Mandarin label soon. · close
