AJISAI

The band AJISAI was found in June 2002. In the beginning AJISAI had 5 members, but Tomoyuki Iwasaki (guitar) left very early and so Shun Matsumoto (vocal) had to take over some of the guitar parts. Furthermore following members belong to AJISAI: Atsushi Sue (guitar), Mocchi (bass) and Daisuku Yamamoto (drums).

In November 2003 they released their first single “Ajisai” (hydrangea) and took part at the “Winter Song Battle” of NHK which opened some doors for their band. Their second single “Mushoku” was released in September 2004. Nearly one year later, in July 2005 AJISAI published the first mini album “Re:NOTE” which was limited to 1.000 exemplars.

In March 2006 they took part at the “Nesshou On Air Battle” of NHK, whereupon the song “Mirai” was published on a compilation album of the lable BUDDY RECORDS. Only one month later BUDDY RECORDS released AJISAIs first album “sunny umbrella” which reached 2nd place at the weekly indie charts of TowerRecords. Afterwards their first nation-wide tour followed where the last concert at Shimokitazawa Club Que was sold out.

Their mini-album “KIMISUKISETSU” was published in March 2008. It contains a lot of acoustic melodies. In August and November some more songs were released on different compilation CDs, until on December 3rd their first official single “Niji” was published which reached place # 10 at the official indie charts. On their following tour they had a one man show for the first time at the sold out Shibuya O-Crest.
