Well my favorite movie at the moment is definately Slumdog Millionaire:
As per The New York Times movie review: "A modern fairy tale about a pauper angling to become a prince, this sensory blowout largely takes place amid the squalor of Mumbai, India, where lost children and dogs sift through trash so fetid you swear you can smell the discarded mango as well as its peel, or could if the film weren’t already hurtling through another picturesque gutter."
You guys should DEFINATELY check it out!
of course the lord of the rings, the best ever for me ![]()

Tony Takitani is a perfectly sad movie I think I cried about a dozen times....
Tony Takitani, a technical illustrator, meets, falls in love with, and marries a woman who is obsessed with shopping for clothes and accessories. When she dies suddenly, he is completely distraught and sets about hiring a woman as an assistant, with the one primary condition being that she should wear his wife's clothes to work. However, after the final job interview, he changes his mind and sells the clothes instead, realising that he is destined to spend the rest of his life alone. Its so damn sad. I cried for the man T___T
but its one of my faves cuz i felt some many emotions when watching it i just felt like wow, he gave up on finding love, and ever being truly loved again. It just put tears in my eyes at how sad he was, I mean he seemed kinda depressed the whole movie but losing his wife made him seem soo much worse. but awesome movie if your into it.
ooooo, so many!
Survive Style 5 is INCREDIBLE
Oldboy is amazing, although probably a little too graphic/disturbing for most JPA users
Dumplings is phenomenal
Ping Pong is really good - I like the cast and kinda have a bit of a crush on Smile, lol.
Just from this list, if you know any of them that is, you can tell I like films that actually have something to say or a point to make - I really don't often go for typical bang-bang-sod-historical-fact-save-the-girl-kill-drones type films.
I've just seen one of the best movies of 2009 so far - a Swedish vampire tale called Let The Right One In about a bullied 12 year old boy Oskar who befriends and falls in love with a girl called Eli who's the same age as him but is a vampire. It got the right amount of drama, suspense, gore and romance to weave a fantastic tale that sucks you in. If anybody out there likes their vampire flicks then I definitely recommend this. Might be the best movie of it's kind I've ever seen.
I love movies, especially those of terror
Ringu 1, 2, 0
Virus
Razen
Dark Water (japonese)
Gwai Wik
Suicide Club
Alone
Shutter (tai)
Kimyo na sakasu (the maid)
the eye 1, 2 (japonese)
right now my favorite movie is Kitaro! i cannot wait till the second one hits the states.
but i also love pretty much anything by Dario Argento or Takashi Miike. =]
