Ladies and Gents,
Some of you might not know whats Vintage. Allow me to explain
.
Vintage is a generic as in general class of new*copies* or second hand me downs from previous eras. Antique or old as you can call it. Vintage is pretty much used everywhere. Example: cars, wine, music, clothing, etc.
For this thread, of course, we are going to express ourselves within Fashion and beauty
.
Generally speaking, this clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to 1960s is considered vintage. Retro, short for retrospective, or "vintage style" usually refers to clothing that imitates the style of a previous era. Reproduction, or repro, clothing is a newly-made but faithful copy of an older garment. Clothing produced more recently is usually called modern or contemporary fashion. Opinions vary on these definitions.
Most vintage clothing has been previously worn, but a small percentage of pieces have not. These are often old warehouse stock, and more valuable than those that have been worn, especially if they have their original tags. Referred to as deadstock or new old stock (NOS), they nevertheless sometimes have flaws.
Now, for this thread, Talk about, express how you feel, Show us your favorite pieces of clothing, accessories such as, for the hair, glasses, shoes, purses, jewelry, hats, etc. all related to whats vintage; what year are they from, why you like it, what do you think about it, where you buy or get it, etc, Everything!!
Remember Vintage is from eras before, all up to the 70s era, but lets include the 80s, up to early 1990's
. From New York to Paris, Japan, etc. its still very popular.
I am a total Vintage junkie
I get the real thing, or I get copies. My look can vary. I do tend to use a lot from the 70s era,80s era. Rock and bohemian, I love it. I like to mix, inspirations from new york fashion to Tokyo. Vintage is art and it has history.
These are a few items I picked out from my stuff xd, A colorful purse representing the 70s, also the sunglasses, which are a copy*imitation* from that era. My glasses are also a copy, but from the 50s era. My hair clip represents a Victorian era, its a copy
My pearls*fake*
and rings which are real, are from the 70s, hand me downs from my mother.

Oh, guys also dress vintage eh
