Erika Sawajiri born April 8, 1986 in Nerima, Tokyo) is a Japanese actress and model. Her ethnicity include Japanese/Algerian (Her mother is Algerian-French mixed). * She has a Japanese father and an Algerian-French mother and is the youngest child of three brothers and sisters. Her father died of cancer when she was in her third year at junior high school and her second eldest brother died in a car accident when she was in her first year at high school.
* Her father owned sixteen racehorses, including the horse, Edonokoban (エドノコバン). Her mother manages a Mediterranean restaurant now and Erika sometimes helps with it.
* Her specialty is horseback riding. She has been riding since childhood.
* Her name is derived from an orchids's name. (Ericaceae's Erica)
* She decided to enter the entertainment world because she wanted to meet singer Namie Amuro whom she idolizes.
* It's said that she has a frank character in contrast with her girlish appearance.
* Her music career debut was under the name "Kaoru Amane". A name of her character in her current drama, the TV adaptation of A Song to the Sun (Taiyou no Uta). The single went into number 1 in its second and fourth week. close

Ugh...that lipstick does not suit her, not one little bit. Anyway, I agree about her acting in 1 Litre of Tears. I think that will always be her best work.

Sawajiri Erika enjoys shopping at Kitson
Sawajiri Erika showed up at Kitson Omotesandou on the 5th, and enjoyed shopping there with six of her friends.
According to Oricon Style, she stayed at Kitson for only 35 minutes, but still managed to spend ￥558,225. Erika showed up in black tank top and jeans, but when she came out after the shopping, she had changed into a new one piece which she bought that day.
To take photos of Erika, 80 members of the press appeared, and they asked her how the divorce situation is going. Erika answered that she wanted to divorce him as soon as possible.
AVEX has confirmed that they´ll take Sawajiri under contract!:)

hmm..i really don't like her...but i can't believe im saying this she's good in one litre of tears..
You're not alone. I think she's good at acting and singing and I enjoy her works but she's too - I don't know how to say this nicely - skanky to like. I mean this man was just 2 years ago literally twice her age, not good looking - fugly as some might put it. It makes you question if this isn't a sort of political marriage or a tama no koshi.
I cant wait to see her back on the stage!
