Not really. # of people w/ name = [population]/[#of unique names]. Therefore, to have a lot of people with the same name, your culture must have a lot of people OR very few names to pick from. That means a relatively small culture can have a lot of ppl w/ the same name if say.. they weren't very creative in naming their kids.
Did you know there's about 8 different ways to classify typefaces/fonts? Blackletter, Humanist, Transitional, Modern, Slab Serif, Humanist Sans Serif, Transitional Sans Serif, and Geometric Sans Serif. And people were literally shocked when calligraphy type was replaced with alphabets just like what we see today. Shocked because they'd only ever seen one typeface their whole life before Humanist, Transitional, etc. XD
I find it interesting but then again I spend most of my week holed up in classrooms learning about type in graphic design. >.> I think it's pretty funny that people were so culture-shocked about lettering though. xD
