Lead vocalist TAKA is a former member of the Johnny's Jimusho idol group NEWS. Members Toru and Ryota are former members of the rapping break dancing group HEADS. After Alex left the band in May 2009, the band released the single "Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer" on February 3, 2010. It was featured 9th in the Weekly Oricon Charts. They released their fourth studio album titled Niche Syndrome on June 9, 2010.
The band started when Toru, Alex and Ryota started it in high school. Shortly after the creation of the band Taka joined the group as the main vocals.
The group came up with the name "ONE OK ROCK" because they would book studio time at One o'clock. The Japanese pronunciation of ONE OK ROCK (ワンオクロック)is wanokurokku which sounds like One o’clock.

This band is the s**t! I love their music. I've been a fan since Beam Of Light came out few years ago. I'm kinda sad that Alex was kicked out cuz if that scandal.
Their new stuff blows my mind. Niche Syndrome is prolly the album i've listened to the most this year. Taka is the man!!!!!!
Can't wait for them to release new stuff and maybe they'll have a tour outside Japan. That'd awesome. . . .

One Ok Rock are just AWESOME! I fell in love with them from the first sigth (song? XDD) They are just perfect for me when it comes with music *-* My favoirites songs are et cetera, liar, Yume Yume and Keep it real I wish them muuuuuch bigger career they deserve it! Their music makes great atmosphere I could recommend them to everyone even if they haven't heard any japanese music before XDDD I think that everybody should know them!!

Love this band sooooo much! They have such a different sound from other J-Rock bands, and their English is actually really good!
