History
In 1997, the band was formed in Ibaraki under the name MUCC (not "MUKKU"). The original member line-up was TATTOO (Tatsurou) on vocals, Miya on guitar, HIRO on bass and Satochi on drums. In the following year, two demotapes were distributed, "NO?!", and "Tsubasa wo kudasai" (翼をください). "Aika" (哀歌) was released under Misshitsu Neurose records.
In February 1999, the band had their first one-man live at Mito Lighthouse. Bassist HIRO left the band and was replaced by YUKKE, a childhood friend of Miya. Their second demotape, "Shuuka" (愁歌) was released, and "Aka" was distributed in a series of lives. In December, their first CD album "Antiiku" (アンティーク) was released.
In 2000, the band had their first interview in the monthly publication FOOL'S MATE, issue 221. TATTOO changed his name to Tatsurou, and the band's name MUCC was changed to MUKKU (ムック). On 6/9 (9 June, known as MUCC day), they released their first CD single "Shoufu/Hai" (娼婦/廃) and a second press of "Antiiku" (アンティーク). They also contributed two songs to the omnibus CD "NON-STANDARD FILE ~@6sight~".
In January 2001, MUCC puts out their first full album "Tsuuzetsu" (痛絶). A remastered and remixed version of this album was later released in June, titled "Tsuuzetsu ~inshouchigai~" (痛絶~印象違~). A pair of singles "Akaban" (赤盤) and "Aoban" (青盤) were out in July, and a mini-album "Aishuu" (哀愁) in December.
In 2002, MUCC started their own original label "Shu" (朱), under Danger Crue records, under which a new maxi- single "Fu wo tataeru uta" (負ヲ讃エル謳) was released. During this time an official fanclub "Shuu no to" (朱ゥノ吐) was formed as well. On 6/9, a single "Suisou" (水槽) was sold by the members themselves at Like an Edison in Shinjuku. On 9/6 (reverse MUCC day), a second album "Houmurauta" (葬ラ謳) was released. First press of the album was quickly sold out, so a second press was released in the following month, which included the band's first PV (promotional video) of the song "Zetsubou" (絶望).
In August of 2006, MUCC was the one of the musical guests of the anime convention Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland, playing two concerts at the Ram's Head Live with Nana Kitade. The third honored guest of the convention was Yoshiki (formerly of X Japan), who did not perform. In addition to their two live performances, the band also participated in a panel on Friday, August 4th, where fans asked them various questions, and held an autograph session immediately before their August 5th show. close
Any lovers of MUCC?
From the moment I heard them, I adored them. Tatsurou's voice drew me in immediately. I think it was Zutazuta that I first heard... My favourite MUCC song to this day.
So yes, Homura Uta is my favourite album, though I love all that I've heard.
My first Mucc song was Libra.I fell in love with that song and lyrics. And I agree with you,Tatsuro has a beautiful voice.
And also I totally love the new single Ageha.
MUCC is really awesome!
They are very unique and the energy of Tatsuro on stage is WHOW! They are all just so skilled!
Strange there aren't that much posts on this topic x] I mean MUCC is a great J-Rock band =D
Anyway the first time I've heard MUCC was hmm.. I think almost a year ago... The first song I've heard of them was FUZZ... Didn't really like that song in the first place, but later on I heard Libra and I fell in love immediately x''D Hehe..

But there are like over a 100 songs =0 So haven't heard everything yet, but my fave album is Homura Uta or Shion dunno... Shion and Homura Uta are very different from each other, but I like them both a lot
Ok.. My first forum post x] YAAY.
The first track I heard was "Mikan no Kaiga" and instantly became a fanatic. But it was only a few months after listening to it, that I became interested in them as the people behind the music.
Now... I'm totally obsessed with Yukke (and don't know why!) XD
Oh I also didn't like the song "FUZZ" at first, because it seemed too cheesy, but then I saw them perform it live, and the song got stuck in my head. XD :RBheart:
Not really a big fan, but I'm getting to see them LIVE too in June XD
OMG i randomly found their album Shion at Hot Topic a week ago and now i love them!

MUCC is one of my big-time loves. I can't say one favourite song, but Ame no Orchestra is awesome, hanabi from their latest album...

流星 ![]()
1st song of them I heard was... "FUZZ"
I wasn't listening jrock yet, but I liked it. I'd add it to my favourites on one of sites and forgot about it ^ ^" Few months later I was browsing these favourites, I saw this song and thought: "gosh, I don't remeber it!". I listened to it and I... fell in love... :RBheart: I've gone to YouTube and heard rest of their songs and that's how my adventure looks like XD
I was wondering why they aren't so popular, too, but - for me - it's even better
Still, I don't have any of their albums (I don't want to download and it's impossible to simply buy CD of them here XD) but... soon I'll have :RBkiss:

MUCC will be releasing a new single on November 25th called 「フリージア」 (Freesia), and it’s coming out in two types.
First we have the Limited Press Edition which costs 1680 yen and contains three tracks. They also plan to enclose some time of promotional item in the first press edition.
Then there’s also a Regular Press Edition , which contains two tracks. However, one of the tracks on this type of the release is not available on the first press edition.
This is the third single that ken from L’Arc~en~Ciel will produce for the band, and it features a ballade! The ballade is a different type of ‘flavour’ from MUCC has produced thus far, giving them a new essence.
The setlist for their Europe tour is up! You can find it in their livejournal community ![]()
That was the same way I had found out about them. But that CD has been there for like a year...they are so late on updating them.... :RBangry: But I also learned of them through the song Chain Ring and Fuzz. Both so darn catchy :RBstickout:
