Deathgaze was formed in 2003 by Hazuki, Ai, Naoki, and Kanna, who was soon replaced by Naoto. After releasing their first single, "294036224052", vocalist, Hazuki, left in spring 2004 to form his own band, Lynch. As a replacement, Sou joined the group in late 2004. The band released several more singles and their first album, though Sou also left in late 2006 to marry. At this time, the band announced a half-year long hiatus.
On November 11, 2007, the band officially ended their hiatus with the bassist Ai becoming the vocalist. As of now, Deathgaze has released six singles (one being a re-release) and a full-length album titled Genocide and Mass Murder. Ai is the main composer and lyricist of the band, even when Hazuki was still a member. He is also in charge of art direction for their CD releases. The band also performs under the session name Knohhoso (野っ細), playing cover songs of older and popular Japanese rock bands. Knohhoso also features Ai on vocals.
Recently, it also was announced that the band has secured a new bassist named Kosuke.

well yeah but it's really funny 'cause it's way to low!!!!!!!!!!
In your opinion, maybe. I like it low. (Y)
no I mean it's okay for me if it is low like the voice of shou in alice nine actually his my fav. member but the voice of the vocalist of deathgaze is way to looow I mean it's lower than shou's voice
If you think Shou's voice is low, I suppose you haven't heard Kamijo or Asagi.. Of course Shou's voice is rather low, but not compared to the ones I mentioned XD

Nathan from HearJapan sent this our way! It’s definitely something all DEATHGAZE fans should check out:
DEATHGAZE reworked a lot of their earlier material. Although Deathgaze has gone through a few lineup changes recently, this release signifies self-reflection and forward motion for the band. “The Continuation” compiles tracks from out-of-print releases, re-recorded with a new lineup, including a new singer: their former bassist, Ai.
With violent guitar riffs and shouts, crushing drums, and bold, low bass, Deathgaze refuses to let their colors fade. In fact, everything is darker than ever before, filled with added nuances not present in the original versions.
HearJapan also released another visual kei release today by Madbeavers, who are known for their work with X-Japan’s hide (as hide with Spread Beaver). The three song single also goes on sale today
for 570 yen.
