All of AKB Family Performs Special Charity Live
In commemoration of the East Japan Earthquake which was almost a year ago, AKB48 as well as sister groups SKE48, NMB48 and HKT48 will all be putting on a charity event. The charity event is called "Higashi Nippon Daishinsai Fukko Shien Tokubetsu Kouen~Dareka no Tameni PROJECT" and will have all members of each group participating. The event will start at 2:30pm on March 11th and will run until 4pm. The event is totally free to attend.

AKB48 immediately after the earthquake last year created the "Dareka no Tameni" Project. This project was started up to help out the people of Japan affected by the earthquake and has been contributed by the members of AKB48 themselves as well as fans who have helped to raise money as well. A donation from their CD revenues totals up to 1,254,175,973 Yen and counting.

Going into the new quarter, Iwate-ken, Fukushima-ken and Miyazaki-ken will together be donating 10 cars to those affected earthquake victims so they can commute to places they may need to go.

This was a sad day for all of Japan, and even though it was a terrible disaster we should remember the innocent lives lost and continue to strive for a better future.
