Kobushi Factory member Rena Ogawa has left the group and is going to retire from the entertainment industry.
In July, Ogawa was diagnosed with anxiety neurosis, a mental disorder characterized by extreme and exaggerated reactions to feelings of anxiety. She suspended her activities and was supposed to return in mid-August, but she never resumed her activities.
Although she has made progress, Ogawa's condition has not stabilized. After consulting with her doctors and her parents, the idol decided to leave the group and entertainment industry.
"I will do my best to find a new dream while also facing my current condition...I will always be a member of Kobushi factory and will do my best to continue supporting the group," Ogawa wrote in a blog post.
Kobushi Factory is now a 6-member group, down from 8-members when it debuted. Former member Rio Fuji was dismissed from the group last month due to a breach of contract.
