Keyakizaka46's First Handshake Event Brings Out 10,000 People & Aid To Earthquake Victims
Approximately 10,000 people came out to Keyakizaka46's first handshake event on April 17.

Nogizaka46's newly formed sister group released its debut single "Silenty Majority' on April 6. The group thanked people for supporting them and coming out to their first handshake event.

As part of the event, the group held a mini live. It performed the 6 songs it had recorded for its debut single.

"Last year, I was where you are as fans. I'm very happy to stand where I am now. We are delighted that all of you came and will work hard to shake your hand. Thank you!," group member Rina Uemura said.

During the event, Keyakizaka46 expressed its condolences for the victims of the Kumamoto earthquakes. A donation box was set up, and the group's fans were encourage to donate whatever they could to help the region's recovery efforts.

"Even if its by just one day, [your donation] will help reconstruction finish earlier. Do your part, and thank you for your cooperation," Yuka Sugai said, eliciting applause from the crowd.
