has filed an appeal against the Tokyo District Court's decision to dismiss his case against Anna Tsuchiya
Kai filed a lawsuit against Tsuchiya for 30 million Yen in damages when she dropped out of his stage play "Kiseki no Singer
". On January 25, 2016, the Tokyo Distrcit Court dismissed the case because it did not believe she was responsible for the play shutting down.
"Kiseki no Singer" was based off the life of singer Asami Hamada
. Changes were made without Hamada's approval. Tsuchiya left the project when she discovered this.
The Tokyo District Court cited copyright issues as the reason why the production ultimately shut down.
After the court's ruling, Kai had expressed dissatisfaction with its decision and promised to file an appeal.
