Fans Campaign to Stop SMAP's Disbandment
Japanese media and netizens in general were on a ruckus yesterday after the news about SMAP disbanding broke out earlier that morning. Although things have not been confirmed yet, it was initially reported that the 27-year music career of Johnny & Associates' very own SMAP will come to an end.

While negotiations are still on going, loyal fans of the popular boy group petitioned a campaign to people especially their fellow fans to reach a triple million sales of "Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana", SMAP's best-selling single to date, to stop them from their alleged disbandment. This is SMAP's fans' way of showing full support to what seems to be Japan's longest-reigning boy group.

As of now, the total sales of "Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana" is 2.6 million, and 400,000 copies of the single need to be sold in order to hit the 3 million mark. The campaign's hashtag has already reached Twitter and is one of the top ten trending topics right now. The tweets come with the details on how to purchase the single.
