Zhang Bo Hong's bio

Brought up in the capital of Beijing, Zhang Bohong travelled overseas with his parents at an early age. A cross-cultural background and an instinctive reminiscence for Chinese culture have led him to fuse traditional Chinese instrumental styles with western R&B and rock techniques.
Though he has travelled through different countries, Zhang Bohong says he has enjoyed his most memorable days in Beijing. The long history of this ancient city and the amazing folk customs became the inspiration for his music. Even feelings of homesickness can be heard in his songs.

Since his debut album, "Reborn Missa", was released, Zhang Bohong has attracted a lot of attention in the musical arena. The title song, "Native Beijinger", occupied the top spot on several billboard rankings. His years of hard work have paid off as he has been crowned the youngest songwriter in the Chinese mainland. Like many children who begrudgingly start studying music, Zhang was reluctant to take on after-school activities like piano classes.

Thanks to his parents' perseverance, Zhang Bohong is now able to make perfect use of piano accompaniments in his music. Indeed, in the song, "When I Was 17", we find Zhang has mastered many different instruments, yet the piano remains his favorite.
Zhang says his debut album is autobiographical. It records different episodes in his life and moments of joy and bitterness.

Now, the music prodigy is busy touring college campuses and bringing his songs and life stories to other people his own age. close
