RUMI's bio

Since she was a child, Rumi has loved music and singing in public, performing for adults in the neighborhood. In junior high, she auditioned at a Fukuoka broadcast station. Her voice made a strong impact with the judges and she began lessons with their recommended affiliates. She started her professional music activities at the Fukuoka live house "Eary Believers" which opened in 2004 designed to find and assist new talent. In 2005 she released her debut single on an indies label. Her groovy blues voice was praised and garnered attention. In November 2008 she debuted her single "Rakuen Walker" with Universal Music Japan. Though she grew up with Western music, she admires Hibari Misora and is a 22 year-old otaku of songs from the Showa period. close
