    Information

When she was 3 years old, Komatsu Miho was influenced by her older brother to play an electone. Later, in a interview, she said she had a big musical influence from her brother. During middle school, she began writing her own lyrics and music, and was part of a band where she played the keyboards. Later, Komatsu became the band's vocalist and they did concerts in Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe. At the same time, she kept working on her original songs, and a friend helped her send a demo tape to labels. She signed with ZAIN RECORDS in 1997.

Komatsu's first job was writing FIELD OF VIEW's seventh single, Kono Machi de Kimi to Kurashitai, released in April 1997. A month later, she had her own debut as a singer. Nazo was used as an opening theme for the anime Meitantei Conan and became a huge success. It ranked at #9, spending eight months on the Oricon chart and selling over 326,000 copies. In September, she was transferred to Amemura O-town Record label.

Komatsu's debut album was out in December 1997, titled after her hit single, Nazo. Beside her first two singles, it contained four self-covers, including DEEN's Kimi ga Inai Natsu (also used in Meitantei Conan) and WANDS' Sabitsuita Machine Gun de Ima wo Uchinukou. The album was also a success, reaching #5 on the Oricon and selling more than 384,000 copies.

1998 started with the release of her third single, Negaigoto Hitotsu Dake, in January. The song was also featured in Meitantei Conan as an ending theme, and the single reached #8 on the chart, selling around 295,000 copies. In March, Komatsu won the 12th Japan Gold Disc Awards for "Best New Artist of the Year". Her sixth single Koori no Ue ni Tatsu You ni, released in October, was once again used as an ending theme for Meitantei Conan. Two months later, the second album was released. Komatsu Miho 2nd ~Mirai~ reached #3 and sold over 600,000 copies, becoming Komatsu's best selling album.

With the termination of Amemura O-town Record's label, Komatsu was transferred to GIZA studio. Her first single with them was Saitan Kyori de.

Komatsu continued releasing singles, though with less frequency. In November 26th 2003, she released three things: her 20th single Tsubasa wa Nakutemo, the selection album lyrics and her first essay book, titled "Hen na Monosashi.".

In May 2005, her 24th single I just wanna hold you tight was chosen as an ending theme for the anime MÄR HEAVEN. She released two more singles before entering on hiatus.

A best album was released in November 22nd 2006, titled Komatsu Miho BEST ~once more~, along with her second essay book, "Hen na Monosashi2.".

2007 was her 10th anniversary year, but even so there were no releases. Despite of her hiatus, Komatsu continued updating her diary and taking pictures (although she hasn't updated since January 2009). close
